Well i knew it was up to the safety officers but why oh why would us being alowed in to the away end cause a fire

I seem to recall this was part of the issue a couple of years back - the fact that we only have one exit that leads directly onto the road causes issues - there was talk at the time of putting a second main exit in place, but it was never completed at the time, for reasons not known to me.

It wouldn't - but if there were a fire elsewhere in the ground, people could injure themselves falling over the uneven surface moving away from the fire. That is the line from the fire brigade.

Whether or not we use the away end is upto the clubs safety officer not the police or the fire brigade. This weekend if we are not under snow drifts the away end will be split down the middle with just under half open to each set of supporters and a segregation area roughly the width of the goal manned by stewards.

The issue with the closed stand is simply that in the event of an emergency evacuation there are many trip hazards because of the crumbling concrete plus insufficient lighting therefore in the officials opinion it had to close for safety reasons.

That was along the exact same lines that i was told, but then there are many peoples views on here, so we will just have to wait and see, but i do believe you are correct in what will happen on saturday.

Perhaps we could find a sponser to advertise on the roof as they use to.This was a landmark from the railway.Blue Circle comes to mind as one.There is probably someone out there looking for a site to plant there Logo and you would get the roof done as well.Worth a thought.
