Saturday's team?

Be interesting to see what Eddie does tomorrow with the team and formation. From what we have available I’d say he’d have to go to 4-4-2, unless you move Murph 1 to left-wing-back, but then there is nobody to cover Murph1 as Hodgey is suspended.

Got a few options I spose. Murph could go left back, Daly and Sauls centre backs then you could play Kassim right back with Josias in front of him. Never really seen Kassim play, so not sure what he’s like though.

The more obvious one would probably be to go with a back four of Carbon, Daly, Sauls and Murph 1. Move Chopper to left-wing, Mets and Veli in the middle and Spence on the right, although that really does cut of the wing option as neither are natural wingers. Alex going and Danny injuring his foot have really caused probs.

Personally I’d like to see Veli get a start and would not mind seeing what Leigh Mason can do, but I don’t think they will both start. I’d say Seedel and Murph 2 will start up front with new signing Dan Cann on the bench to come on.

What do you recon?

I'm sure I saw the boy Harris rampaging down the left when Sluff beat Windsor last season and he looked dangerous all afternoon, albeit with the golden departed boy in tow.

You should be positive. Take the cup runs out of the equation and judge the side, as ultimately most do, on the league form. The reality is that Slough have taken 36 points from 25 matches – 1.44 per game.

Project this across the season and it works out at a final total of 60 – this is before we factor in the fixture congestion.

It would have meant a heady 14th place on last season's Premier Division. This league looks a lot tighter so it will probably mean a higher spot this time but as long as Eastleigh and above can each win three out of their minimum of 12 games then the play-offs should be out of reach.

What I'm trying to say is: would a forced change in formation be that bad? The present system is not exactly setting the world alight in the league.

Going on who is fit and free from suspension I think the formation has to be 4-4-2

Allaway

Carbon Daly Saulsbury Murph 1

Spencer Metcalfe Hakki Harris

Seedel Murph 2

Leaving us with Kassim, Mason Parkin and anybody else fit on the bench - or more likely Wilko, Shepherd or Miller being named subs but clearly not going to take part.

I think you need to be a little more precise with your calc Mr Anon. We have played 11 home and 14 away games, so projecting forward on a home and away basis it becomes 69 points. If this is done for all teams we come out 9th at the end of the season.

Didnt Wilko play on Wednesday? Migh Carbon switch flanks with Kassim coming in on the right?

Can't see Jay switching to the right. If Eddie does want to stay with the normal (5-3-2) formation only option is moving Mi Murphy to left-wing, but who comes in CB? Lovegrove?

Paul, Wilko played 45 minutes of the reserve game in midweek. In light of the fact that both he and Veli has suffered recurrences of injuries following speedy returns from injury I would hope Eddie and Kev would choose not to risk him just yet.

How do you think the players mindset will be ?

Down : because of Alex's departure, and because of the last performance.

UP : because they want to prove that Alex won't be missed, and that last week was just a blip.

Chris I thought you were taking the mick when you said his name was Dan Cann - I think someone said earlier it was McCann. So who's for a high kicking can-can when he makes his first appearance?
