For once I am attempting to be sensible

Recommended Posts

So like zillions of teams before us, we have again fallen foul of this anitquated cup-tied rule. Who ever heard of anyone being league-tied?

This following suggestion may help to alleviate future problems.

Why not have each County FA print up 4pp A6 cards for each player they sign. When any player leaves to join another senior club the Secretary can (because all relevant details should be to hand), just write on the card in the relevant space, what cup competitions said player has appeared in and should be signed by the Secretary.

Say there are 40 senior clubs in Essex and each club on average signs 30+ players a season, this totals 1200/1500 cards. These would cost no more than £250 to have printed and the back page could be used as advertising to offset the cost or charge say 10p extra per player signed on.

Each player would have to look after his card, like credit cards and season tickets just placed in a wallet to be used as and when he signs for a new club.

I am not saying this 100% fool proof, but for a minimal effort, a lot of heartache could be avoided.

Certainly has p!ssed me off, but then again I will get over it. I can take the flak, but it's the tossers I find hard to stomach.

On the odd occasion in my life I try to act the pragmatist, henceforth the first post, but invariably there are a few [****!!****] sniffs out there with balls for brains. Not you of course dear heart. Did you win the darts by the way?

See EFC for details.........

Grow up. The events surrounding the formation of ETFC have been well documented. Our chairthing deserted us. Just because your season has started to go t*ts up stop having a go at us.

Why didn't we play a friendly instead or do we need official permission?

Or am I being too simplistic?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Givesw both managers a chance to try out fringe players and keep all players match fit.
