Gale force conditions provided a profound influence on proceedings on Saturday. Bowers with the wind at their backs rarely troubled our defence in the first half. The stand out event was the 30 yard top corner screamer the had me waving to the planes above and clutching at thin air. 0-1. We had several chances that we could not put away before the break the most notable when we had a pen with the last kick of the half.The bowers keeper pulled of a fine save and the rebound was blazed over from 10 yards by our left back. HT 0-1

 

Second half we should have made the wind count and didn't Bowers played some good counter attacking football and equalised with an un marked shot from 12 yards after a break down our left. 0-2

 

Again Bowers came at us as we tried to kill the tie and we left gaping holes at the back. A few saves and goal line clearances later we scrapped through to Extra time.

 

Et was a different matter We decided to play at last and scored in each half. If only we came out from the start of the second half like that we wouldn't have had to endure the ET.

Sunny but cold- don't think it will dry out. The game will be on though. Mud fights galore- Problem will be tonight it is set to be -5C which means if that lot freezes it will be fun!
