The Fox at Carlisle

Does any one who was there have any idea what their mascot was doing carry out that stuffed fox on a stand before the game ? Which was then placed on the centre spot until kick-off ???

Most bizarre I thought !

Great result on Saturday, to take a point off of a full time team with a wage bill reportedly 10 times ours, is an great achievement. Forget about all those CUFC sado's saying 'they' played badly

(standard ex League Club excuse). The truth is they were not that good.

Dunno about the fox thing, but there is a picture of it on a previous thread with a fish in it's gob.. Must be something to do with the floods????

Was a great result, and one which we can all be proud of. It will boost our confidence and no doubt bring us back on form for the rest of our games this season.. A comfortable mid table finish and the KSC, and FAT under our belts will be a fair reward for our efforts this season..!

Didn't the fish turn out to be female and had to be renamed?

Yeah weren't sure of the sexuality of the fish so they did some tests. The results found that the fish couldn't paralell park, changed it's mind on what to wear every other minute and kept a useless stockpile of over 1000 shoes.

On that they concluded it was female.

the fox is the old league badge of Carlisle,if you look at the pics at the trust website to the right of the end stand you will see the old badge, they have been bringing on the fox in the centre for years, when my father used to take me to carlisle forty years ago it was the same thing,at one time it was a live fox.

The fox is called OLGA (anagram of goal). It used to be carried onto the pitch by a gentleman toff dressed in all blue regalia called Twinkletoes. It has been with us for forty five years at least. The goldfish tale is crap.
