sexism in football

for years I have been listening to men on terraces saying that football is no place for a woman, an I always thought of this as sexist clap trap, rubbish twiddled on my men who were scared of their station in life being being put under threat by women who are equally as good (if not better) at most things they are allowed to compete equally on.

 

all this changed though when I was at the Canvey V Northwich game. who ever the female Northwich fan was who insisted on screaming everytime someone in a green shirt touched the ball, thank you for opening my eyes and showing me the light.

 

women your place is in the kitchen and this should never be forgotten

God that woman was scary. Everytime Northwich got near our goal all you could hear was this woman hyperventilating!!

 

Alot of the women I know who watch football can get pretty excited but this was just plain ridiculous.

I remember taking a customer to WHU v Chelsea a couple of seasons ago.

 

We were sitting just in front of the hospitality boxes. On the balcony was this woman drinking rather heavily and geting more and more vocal about her beloved Chelsea. In front of us was a wall and then more WHU fans who were starting to look round at this "wailing" that was going on.

 

The louder she shouted, the more the WHU fans got agitated and started to turn round telling her to F*** off etc. At one point she shouted out "come on Chelsea it's only bloody West Ham". Well this seemed top break the Camels back and when fans in front started to leave their seats in the direction of the box, the men she was with suddenly realised that she was a death wish and promptly told her to shut it and removed her from the box. It was hysterical she just wouldn't shut up.....

 

Also, was the Lineswoman at Bath City the first woman official Canvey have had?

there should be an area for like minded pissed blokes over the age of 18 to get pissed up, smoke, swear a lot and generally piss around at football..oh and make all the noise.. and it should be on terraces behind the goals.. anyone who dosent like any of that , all minors and women should be in seats by the side

Gotta reply 'ere. Although I now live in Benfleet I still consider meself a pikey through and through. Born and bred there (moved off about 15 years ago when I got married). I couldn't give a s**t what you blokes say or do (as long as any fights don't involve me). <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I've probably heard a lot worse in the places that I previously worked (I trained as a butcher before going into office work. If the other women don't like the language etc then they should go to a netball game!!

You fellas make the atmosphere so carry on. Even the players 'ave their moments!!

Didn't see the Northwich woman (I stand along the side by the shop)so can't comment but I don't think I make a prat of myself any more.

Maybe she wanted to get noticed and it sounds like she did!!

Just don't tar us all with the same brush!!
