..I am getting totally bored with Water-gate now, but have just noticed that Gretna could be promoted next Saturday. (Okay goal difference does come into play, but with a 70+ advantage over the Blue Brazil it is hardly meaningful).

Would this be a record, as in the earliest promotion at top(ish) level? I remember Morton winning the Sweatie second division by a street in 1964, but not too sure when their topping out day was achieved.
