***The Big Switch***

As you are probably aware, we have been working hard on getting the forums ready for the 'Big Switch'.

 

I am delighted to announce that this will take place this week. <img border="0" title="" alt="[big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

 

The forums will go down at 9pm on the evening of the Big Switch, and will be off-line for around 1 - 2 hours. I will then be working through the night to switch everything over. So you may be able to post before retiring for the night. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

 

***Logging In***

 

The only real issue is that you currently have both a username (which you login with), and a screen name. Sadly your screen name will be no more <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" /> Your username will now be displayed as your name on the site.

 

For many this will not be a problem, as the names are the same, but for some it will a shock to see another name appear. I will open up a thread in the 'General News' forum following the Big Switch, for you to request a change. It *may* be possible for moderators to change these as well - so please watch out for announcements in your club forums.

 

All usernames & passwords should work and remain the same. If you have forgotten your username or password, I suggest you visit http://www.nonleague.net/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=lost_password, enter your email address, and your details will be emailed to you. (You may need to logout first)

 

I strongly urge you to make sure that your email address is current and valid.

 

***Linking to your community***

 

There are new ways to link to all the relative club & league communities - these in fact work now - so if you have links anywhere or bookmarks, you should update them now. Please only use the URL's below, as others may fail.

There are no spaces in any of the URL's instead the gap is in fact an underscore '_'.

 

***Other Changes***

 

You will notice that the Sections previously called 'League & Cup Forums' and 'Miscellaneous' have altered, this is in preparation for the move. It means that I can bring the forums back online quicker. So sorry if the 'home page' of the forums looks a lttle messy.

 

It will take a day or so to get used to the new forums - I guess the biggest difference will be the fact that you now reply to a post, rather than reply to the entire thread - this is so that you can view the forums in either threaded or flat-file view. Oh and the fact that you will now be in your own club or league community, so searches, recent posts etc., will be confined to this community.

 

There will also be a new site-wide navigational system to make it easier to switch between online communities. Further customisation will take place over the next week or so - so bear with us, as I introduce the changes.

 

So I hope to see you all on the other side - that is if I am still awake....
