Hawks view of Daish

I have to admit to having never wanted CK or Garry Hill - neither would have been popular. Liam's appointment may prove to inspired, as was Andy's. As he is virtually unknown amongst us, apart from his short but highly successful tenure at Welling, he brings no baggage with him. The Anon posters on here may well another opinion of him, that is their perogative, it is an open forum, all views can be expressed.

But I reckon unless any Fleet fans know anything different, we MUST give him every chance.

He comes across as a tough, uncompromising character. That may be what is needed to kick start our season and rekindle some team spirit that appears to have been lacking of late.

We will judge you only on the results on the field, not what anon posters claim about you.

I am a bit late in posting this so please bear with me, Liam Daish was a top bloke at H&W. He is quite an explosive type who is very forthright in his views. The weak and/or those who look for excuses may call this bullying, but I put it down to a man who knows what he wants and demands it from his players.

I read the anonymous posting and I know exactly who his work colleague is, It is Trevor Brock the H&W secretary. He is the sort of spineless so and so who would spout that utter bo##**ks.

I wish Liam and everyone at Gravesend and Northfleet all the best and am pleased you have secured Conference football again for next season.

An interesting thread !

Lots of varying opinions, which is precisely how a forum should be

Some of the guys, (who seem to spend the majority of their lives on this forum !), must realise that others do not share their sycophantic views and indeed have the right to express their opinion in a "non-party line" manner.

I think the "inside" information from the "anon" chaps relating to Liam is very interesting.

However, I think we need to wait until the summer before passing judgement on Liam. It will be a case of who he retains, who he ejects and who he attracts to the club, that will start to show his managerial abilities.

It was however disapointing that the Board could not attract a manager with a proven Conference track record, especially bearing in mind their bullish move to a full time team next year. It would have been nice to recruit a manager who had "been there, done it and bought the tee-shirt". So, really it was a step backwards from Andy, who at least had 3 years Conference experience compared with a guy with zero.

It makes you wonder what he said in his interview to impress the Board so much, because it certainly wasn't his managerial CV or his "articulate" radio interviews that clinched the job for him !

But like I say, let's wait until the summer before passing judgement. Whoever is manager, the main thing is to get behind the team for the rest of the season and hope we get back into scoring ways.

I hope you weren't thinking of George Borg, Riverview? The only thing he will be experienced in is court cases, sorry, no he won't, he didn't bother to turn up. I suspect though there might be a few more in the offing.

Were any experienced Conference Managers available at the time of Andy's resignation?

Give Liam a chance, the Board have given him to the end of next year, the fans should do the same!

So how much Conference (or indeed Ryman/Dr. Martens) managerial experience did Andy have when we appointed him then? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Like you say, give Liam a chance.

It would appear that the players respect him and surely thats the most important thing.

I beg to differ about this being a step backwards from Andy Ford. When he was appointed he had looked after our youth team...... hardly a great track record. I reckon Brian K. knows what he is doing here, so lets sit back and see what happens shall we!

And anyway as someone has pointed out earlier, Liam's R.K interviews are real class and worth him being manager anyday! I dont think he would make much dosh as an "after-dinner speaker!"
