Delighted CK stays at the Gate, but believe you guys should look on the bright side.

Maybe he is as hungry as Martin Allen of Brentford and Barnet-same age group and perhaps similar hunger to 'make it'.

He could be good for you

Why the hell is everyone so cynical about this guy ?? His record of twice getting to the first round of the FA Cup (3 or 4 rounds for them)and an FA Trophy semi over 4 years in charge at Havant is decent enough. In addition he moved them up the league table before it went pear shaped subsequently.

As for those who bang on that he was sacked by Havant - even the best managers get sacked - a certain Mr Brian Clough , from Leeds for instance.

Get real guys & get behind him and the team for the rest of the season - if we go through to April or May unbeaten, win the Trophy and the Kent Senior Cup, I'll lay odds that everyone will be saying what a wonderful choice. And whos to say that wont happen ? (probably the answer to that will be one word - Carlisle)

Clough wasn't sacked because of his inadequacy as a manager or as a coach, he was sacked because he was splitting up the Leeds team messrs Bremner, Giles, Gray etc and they wouldn't play for him and attendances dropped as a protest. Also he had slated Leeds terribly before taking over, hence he wasn't liked nor wanted by anyone at Leeds other than the directors! who, once they realised it was hitting them in their pockets promptly got rid of him!!!! Ultimately he made a mint out Leeds when sacked.

Also, its Carlisle United - two words, but I do understand the sentiments.

Give Daish a chance, he may not be the messiah you all wanted but he's probably the best you could hope for in the current climate. C'mon you northern Boys.

Andy Ford didn't take over at Conference level

So what's your point? Martin Allen took over at Brentford without League One experience. Martin O'Neill took over at Leicester without Premiership/Div One experience. Alex Inglethorpe took over Exeter without ANY managerial experience - look at them now. There's umpteen examples of managers throughout the leagues given jobs seemingly above their station who have made it work.
