Well we can't judge just yet we have to wait and see what he does with the team on and off the pitch and if he fails to do what the fans and the directors expect of him then have another think.

Do we know what type of deal he is on with the club????

Think we all need to give the chap a fair crack of the whip. Alright, it is not the appointment most of the fans wanted but let's hope it is the right one for the club. He has young and has the opportunity to develop with the team and work with the players closely. I hope he has success, and we can ensure dafety this season, have some success in the FA Trophy and then move forward to try and attain football league status.

Welcome Liam. I am sure you will do you very best for GNFC. Agree with Jock, lets give the chap a break. Crikey only been confirmed for a couple of hours and been knocked already. What a warm welcome!!!

Hope to see you at Carlise Liam, although I understand it will be hard for you as you have only just been given job.

Best of Luck to you and the lads for Saturday..

He didnt do badly in first couple of years at Havant and subsequently won 3 out of 3 , I believe, as Welling manager - Pennock pipped him to the permanent job.

He has played at the top level, I believe (was he not an Irish international?), so I'm happy with that choice.

Remember, anyway, that many people questioned the appointment of Andy Ford initially, when more experienced managers were in the frame there (Andy only had Youth Team managerial experience remember) and look where he got us.

Its not so different to Andy Ford . The club could only really get a manager who would work to a budget , and why not one who has proved to them how hungry he is rather then say Gary Hill who probably would rather settle some old scores . I dont think we re going to get a manager who will just draft in his old players as they obviously arent good enough for this level .

It could be the complete fresh start needed

Could be good, definitely not convinced by Garry Hill, chases the money and don't think he'd be keen to work on a shoestring.

As for the likes of a "name" like Ruddock I don't even want to go there more unproven than Daish, and with an ego to feed ,no thanks.

Welcome Liam and I wish you all the best of luck.
