Out of interest?

Cos i'm lazy and can't be bothered to work it out. How many 'free' Tuesday's do we have? We have to fit in another Bryco cup match and K's at home and Yeading away. Must be running out?

Its not just how many free tuesdays we have, but how many free tuesdays Stag Meadow has. I'm sure one of the younger stattos can work it out.

Guessing that's my cue. Right here goes;

 

According to last nights programme the following Tuesday's are already taken up.

 

22nd February Staines (h)

1st March Hendon (h)

8th March Windsor (h)

22nd March Heybridge (h)

 

Also add to this the 29th March as we play Windsor (a) on the 28th March (Bank Holiday Monday).

 

Now next Tuesday (which is probably too quick anyway) is the old Pigeon Club or whatever as is the 15th March (going by the third Tuesday of each month rule). A game could be put in on the 16th March (Wednesday) but as we play Wealdstone on the 18th March (Friday) that maybe unlikely. The other option is the away game at Yeading on the Tuesday.

 

In April we currently have all Tuesday's free although the AFC Wimbledon game probably has a time limit on when it can be played.

 

The Windsor site currently shows their only Tuesday night game as being against us but it doesn't state if they have any games to be rearranged.

 

From this I reckon that both the Yeading and Kingstonian games will end up being played in April while the AFC Wimbledon game may well be the 16th March (the Wednesday) before our game on the 18th March (Friday at Wealdstone).

 

The main problem will arise if we draw at Gravesend as a replay would be during that week meaning that the Hendon home game scheduled for the 1st March would have to be moved again.

 

Just two other facts, 1. We are almost half way through February and there are still three teams that we haven't faced in the league this season; Windsor, Hendon and Heybridge. 2. Since the first cup game we played this season against Croydon Athletic back in September up to yesterday's game we have played 27 matches, 13 of which have been in cup competitions. Of the 14 league matches we have played only 5 have been at Stag Meadow.

The 16th is already booked with Windsor Vs. Farnborough inthe Capital League.

because league officials are completely incompetent when it comes to scheduling alternate home games when two sides share the same ground but are in different divisions. Of course I could be wrong

It is because Wealdstone asked us if the game could be played on the Friday night and we agreed. Nothing sinister involved

Wealdsone thought they could attract more fans on a Friday night. Wealdstone asked some local-ish clubs (us being one) if we would be willing to move, and we did.

Of course i agree that we have a lot of games left but we have proved in seasons past that we can cope with that and i think that we will fit them in somehow.
