The Rebels kept up their habit of winning in cup competitions by brushing aside a poor Salisbury City side a Stag Meadow on Tuesday night. A goal from Ryan Spencer and a brace from Matt Murphy were enough to see the Rebels through comfortably into the last eight of the Bryco League Cup.

The first half was generally scrappy. Neither side were creating loads of chances, but the hosts were never really in danger of losing this tie.

Salisbury could have given Slough an early scare, but a Salisbury forward handled the ball en route to goal and the referee awarded a free-kick to the Rebels.

With just under ten minutes on the clock, Josias Carbon had a good chance to open the scoring, but he sent his shot over from the edge of the area.

It took 17 minutes for Slough to make a breakthrough. Ryan Spencer received the ball from Matt Murphy inside the area. His shot crept inside the post and into the net to give the Rebels the lead.

Barely two minute later, the visitors could have equalised, but the referee turned down their appeals for handball.

Matt Murphy (pictured above left) doubled Slough's lead on 32 minutes. He intercepted a back pass, rounded the goalkeeper and confidently slotted the ball home.

2nd half

With just over an hour gone, Ryan Spencer (pictured right) took a long shot from outside the area, but the 'keeper made a comfortable save, diving down low to his left.

A couple of minutes later, Murphy passed the ball to Glen Harris (pictured below left), whose deflected shot was easily saved.

It was more or less game over when Matt Murphy drilled a right footed shot across the face of goal and into the far corner for 3-0.

Salisbury did have the chance to grad a late consolation, but Wallace's shot went high of the target.

It was an easy win for Slough, and comfortable passage into the quarter finals of the Bryco League cup. You have got to give the twenty or so travelling Salisbury fans some credit, they got behind their team from start to finish and made a lot more noise than most opposition fans do on a Saturday.

Yep and of course Windsor beat them at the Stag as well. Will not have to worry about it next season though - they will probably end up playing division one football
