Bad news...

1) It seems Alex is still undecided about what he's doing. Apparently the financial packages on offer are far more than what we could offer with our current circumstances.

There is no real change from last week, but i'm not too hopeful sadly. If there is no change still Saturday i'd suggest a big deal is made over Alex and we do go with Banners and stuff and hopefully his player of the month will be given out to help him hopefully come to persuade him to stay. I guess we will see in the local papers this week what the situation is then take it from there...

2) Mets will more than likely miss three matches through suspension. Staines and sadly Gravesend will defo be two of the matches, but Wilko will be back soon to fill the void!

3) It's bloody cold outside!!!

Player of the Month is to be presented Saturday so hopefully the crowd can make a big deal when its presented. (Of course this is assuming he hasn't gone by then anyway). We really need to keep the Mullet until the end of this season, especially now that Danny has got injured.

...oh and I don't think it's really a financial thing. If Alex was like that I guess he would have walked by now, but money talks and I would not blame Alex if he left, but we are playing well at the moment and I think have a good chance of the play-off's - especially with the amount of home games left - so I hope he will stays!

It is a shame if he goes, but, i think he is a class player who should wait for a Conference side or Footy League ! The team at the moment is well balanced and full of confidence ! We did brilliantly against Thurrock and i think if it was left down to the way he was treated by the fans he would surely stay ! You cannot beat Slough Fans and he should know that. Obviously living down here i don't get to see many Slough games, but, i really enjoyed saturdays game. Having said that if alex wants to move on we cannot and should not stand in his way. Just remember David Kemp, Eric Young, Lloyd Owusu, Micky Droy and be proud of him when he goes onto better things.

Sloughs OTHER Sussex Rebel !

Agree it can not be purely financial as he would be long gone by now. Remember why these players are playing at this level, some have reached their pinnacle and can go no higher, some are good enough to be league players but are missing that factor X which means they make it, but can still show it in bursts. That is why you get giant killing in the cup.

Alex firmly belongs to the latter. I thought he was great the first time I saw him but like many good players he was a bit in and out in the side.

Now when we play 5-3-2 he is first on the teamsheet. Credit to Eddy for that and that is what Alex needs to weigh-up.

Also we are in two cups with cracking games to come, he is s demi-god to Rebels fans now and could progress to full god status in time.

At Eastleigh he would have to prove himself all over again.

Ride the wave Alex, stay with slough.Your talent will always be there to take you on but the combination of this team, the management and the fans is special. Never leave anything unfinished wondering, what if ?

Fingers crossed. Not to mention the last 16 of the trophy. Both bigger games than he will get for Eastleigh if he goes there. And yes I am now discounting Salisbury as a realistic destination for the super Mullet after their shocking display last night.

I think as much as Alex enjoys playing for Slough it has to be considered that football is his living (I presume). For footballing reason's it makes just as much sense to stay, as things are looking ok on the footballing side. Although I'm sure any us would find it hard to turn down a more lucurative move when football is the main source of income. I'm not suggesting Alex is a greedy person but it's got to be considered that most of us would jump at the chance to earn more money doing what we love. I certainly couldn't hold a grudge if he left for that reason.

He does I believe, as Charlie said, have a second job but otherwise you are spot on.

Shocking was not the word........us travelling fans were appauled at the no-contest we gave you.

If you give players as much space as we did last night, we will never win.

Still there is a bright side - hoping (praying) for only 2 visits to Stag meadow next year (or maybe none on the form the last 3 games!

Enjoy the rest of your season - good luck

Good choice of words Futch and well put. The fans which made the journey for a competition which isn't taken too seriously by most was a credit to your club, as was the continued vocal support even at 3-0 down. A lot of our fans could learn a lot from those who made the journey in getting behind the team.

Alex has had a chance at Carlisle & Terry Brown believed (& still does) he ain't good enough for the Conference (not sure I agree though).

If any of us were offered a lot more money to do the job we do for a different company we would be sorely tempted. Alex must do what is right for him. He is virtually irreplaceable tho'.....absolutely cracking player.
