Away to Yeovil at Dorchester

Following rumours at Stonebridge Road today about 6,000 tickets having been sold by Yeovil for next Saturday's game, I found this on one of their unofficial websites:

"The Avenue Stadium has a capacity of 5009; a total of 1229 in the Northern End Terrace behind the goal will be segregated for away supporters, leaving 3780 for YTFC supporters. Of the 3780 there are 701 seats in the main stand, with standing room for 3079 in the terraces behind the goal at the Weymouth end of the stadium and opposite the main stand."

Can this be officially confirmed please by someone?

The match is not all ticket so no tickets have been sold Yeovils only problem is that they have sold more seated season tickets than Dorchester can accomodate.

A good crowd is anticipated as the Yeovil boys are going by train and turning the day into a drinking session just as if it was a cup tie away !!

See you all next sat

I've had a reply to my e-mail which backs up what Sue has told us:

Quote:

Definitely not sold 6000!

We have over 1000 season ticket holders. But apart from them, I don't think

advance tickets are being sold.

According to the blurb with my season tkt, The Avenue Stadium has a capacity

of 5009. The away section (northern terrace, behind one goal) holds 1229.

There are 701 seats in the main stand, and 3079 on home terraces (the other

end, and opposite the main stand.

Enjoy your trip, and remember to allow plenty of time due to holiday

traffic!

The best route will be the M3, M27, A31, A35. You'll see the ground as the

A35 Dorchester bypass meets the A37 to the south of the town.

It'll get busy with traffic around the New Forest, and as you go around

Bournemouth.

If you get the train, you'll come into Dorchester South station, and it's

less than a mile from there.

I think I'll leave for the match on Thursday

It's not all that bad! Get to Dorchester, find Tesco's, and you're there (it's next door!). As said by Hoagy (I presume), we have sold around 1,000 season tickets, although a lot of our regulars pay on the day. Its really difficult to guess an attendance as it's our first competitive game there. That may put some off, but most think we have a real shot at promotion this year (I hope!). It should be a crowd, we make a good atmosphere, and I'm looking forward to it. May I just say, some people think all Yeovil fans go to football for is fight. I for one, and a lot of other home fans, do like meeting with the other fans, so it would be good to see one or two of you before the game. Any idea's as to how many you are bringing? I think there will be around 3,500-4,000 there. Yeah, so only 1 coach was full, but whats the point in getting the coach when a full car would mean less petrol money. It's a real shame you can't come to Huish Park for this match.

Agreed, but I still think this could be a memorable match - our first game back in the conference against most people's favorites for promotion.

Bye the way, is there an element among the Yeovil fans that just go to games for a fight? We tend to be a friendly bunch

No there's not any fans who only go for a fight, although, like with any club, we get the odd group who go along to the big games. Don't worry, you'll find us all alright, I am sure!

Certainly not! Please don't get any silly ideas.

I go to Yeovil games with my daughter. Amongst the people I regularly see/stand with/sit with are a guy with his young son and a retired couple!

No-one will pretend that our part of the world doesn't have the odd idiot - doesn't everywhere? - but we took approx. 13,000 to Villa Park and there was apparently one arrest!!! Please come down on Saturday for a good day out. The only place you'll be beaten is on the pitch!

Definitely be there and looking forward to it.

As for beating us on the pitch, I wouldn't count on it.

We know you're a bigger club ( we only took 7,500 the last time we played at Villa Park), and up for promotion, but we may just suprise you on Saturday.
