alex haddow ur a legend, you have to stay.it's understandable if u want to go to a higher level but eastleigh or salisbury are'nt,we have way much more ambition than them.

What is Slough's ambition? To get a ground in Slough clearly but what level of football do Slough want to aim for realisticly?

Haddow's a great player and would be an assist to any team he plays for so for that i hope he leaves

In a purely footballing sense, Eddie's ambition for this season was to make the play-offs (regardless of whether we could actually take a place in the Connie South). In the long term our realistic ambition would surely to be to regain our Conference status.

Obviously we need to resolve the ground issues but that has got nothing to do with what Al Haddow does on the pitch.

Stay Alex - finish the season with the rebels and then see what the future holds.

What better chance have you got in playing in the trophy final than with us this year?

Please stay.

(Final's at Villa Park - a home fixture for me (and Cheltenham Rebels!!!))

Alex, if you should read this thread then I think you should click on THIS LINK If you stay with us at Slough Town we can't promise that you will reach the highs of that day again but just look at the faces of everybody in these pictures. The sheer joy and adulation of what was an incredible day for both the players, supporters and of course the football club. Look at the photos where Glen is beginning to celebrate his goal. In the background you can spot yourself running over from the other side of the pitch, to join in with that special moment. Look at the pictures of the players celebrating with the supporters. Look at the pictures of you and the boys in the changing room savouring that incredible moment of glory.

I have no doubt whatsoever that you have the ability to play at a higher level than where Slough Town are at moment. If a team higher up the football ranks came in for you we would all wish you well and be thankful for your performances on the pitch, the goals you scored and assisted, your vital tackles. We'll look back fondly on the Mullet, the role you played in our FA Cup triumph, the role we played in making you player of the round and of course remember THAT shirt from the presentation evening last year. However, as we understand it, two clubs from our own division had made an approach to speak with you, one of whom is above us in the table but have hit poor form thanks in no small part to your exploits, the other is hovering above the drop zone and by admission of their own supporters are not good enough at present. To leave Slough Town for one of these clubs at this time is surely a sideways or backwards step. We have a lot of unfinished business to take care of this season, 18 league matches to show everybody else what we are about and we are hitting form at the right time just as we did last season, a cup tie to come against AFC Wimbledon who are undoubtedly a rising power in the non-league, and a game with Gravesend which is all that seperates us from the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy. Should we get that far we can start dreaming about going all the way, and who knows, perhaps you will be going to Cardiff for the FA Cup final and Villa Park to play in the premier non-league competition. Regardless of whatever else the two approaching sides can offer you, they certainly can't offer you this at the present time.

Whatever you decide to do will be respected by the supporters as over the last two seasons you have given the club great service. This is simply a plea to remind you of how much we love you and that we'd be very sad to see you go.

Totally agree. Alex, your talents are appreciated by us all. If you can afford to, please stay, at least until the end of the season.

With the greatest respect to the two clubs who have come in for you, you can do better than that if you're going to leave us.
