Why am I not surprised

In the NLP today on the front page is a demand for an enquiry into the handling of a game by Mr Ives.

 

The paper states that he booked 8 players and sent of three players and a manager. The managers of both clubs have asked for an enquiry, "It was completely mad. I have been in the game 35 years and I have never seen anything like it." Said Willie Wordsworth the Hayes Manager. The protest by Hayes is also being supported by Lewes' Steve King, the manager who was sent off.

 

So what did not surprise me? The throwaway line.

 

"The row exploded after the ESSEX BASED OFFICIAL...... showed three red cards to three Hayes players as well as ordering King from the dugout".

 

Did he graduate from the Essex Senior League?
