Spoke with him for about 20 mins and he is a very nice chap.

Funny that, there was a big feature on him in last week's observer, basically saying how his career had collapsed.

 

Must have been nice to speak to someone who'd had a less successful TV career than yourself.

 

Only kidding, he always seemed like a nice fella, did he give you any useful contacts?

Weren't we taking the piss out of her a while back when she said she knew that Sol Campbell was a nice chap cos she looked after him at Sopwell for a while?

You can't know that someone is a "very nice chat" after 20 minutes - I'm sure that Jack The Ripper was quite a charmer over a couple of beers.

Saying that, I'm a fan of Iain Lee - funny guy. Shame RI:SE went cos it was well underrated.

Well you can tell if somebody is a [****!!****] after about 30 seconds so after 20 mins I think I can form some opinion.

 

Best thing is I was miles funnier than him. He currently works on LBC on Fri/Sat/Sun night, he says he has lots of right wing chat and I pointed out he'd never be as right wing as Mike Dicken on TalkSport whi is on at the same time.

 

Obviously I offered him a job and he accepted.

 

Best bit was this girl came over and said to him "I know your face from somewhere" to which I replied that he'd probably searched her bag on the way in.

So all the people around you took the time to come up to you afterwards, just to tell you that you're funnier than TV's Iain Lee?

 

"By the way Colin, now that skinny bloke has buggered off the bog, can I just tell you how much more hilarious you are than him?"

 

The mind baffles as to how Iain Lee has been employed as a presenter on several terrestrial TV programmes, whereas you've been stuck fronting a local radio show in backwater Essex that can only be picked up on the internet.
