If I were Eddie and Roy I would be telling Haddow not to commit himself to a two and half year contract with either side because:

 

1) We are as good if not better than both sides

2) He is easily good enough for a higher division so if he moves on make it for someone in a higher league and if he stays with Slough it would be easier for him to make the move as he would not be on contract

3) Martin should not be made to change his avatar

 

On the downside he will be offered better money and greater security by being on contract (although it appears to have been his choice to avoid this thus far).

 

Given that he has previously played for Reading and the Shots is he not fairly local? It would be a lot of travelling.

 

He has been a real star hope he sticks with the Rebels.
