magnificent ref tonight

Colour, race, sex doesn't come into it. I appreciate everyone's mentioning it on here, but her refereeing ability is questionable. As is the allegations she visits a dentist regularly!

Mal, don't think the problem was that. For one free kick of theirs, it was eleven paces, for one of ours, it was eight. Not quite sure how that one came about?

Special mention for Josias Carbon in the first half - easily looked the best player on the pitch. Surely good enough to play full time again. Wycsum fielded some fairly talented youngsters but several were more than mediocre - with their no. 10 having an absoulute shocker. No doubt we'll see him pre-season sometime soon.

i think the ref was awful, it took her five minutes to realise the linesman's flag had gone up, and she was so slow that by the time she blew up for any foul, we had all forgotten it and moved on and didnt know why she had stopped it!

nothing wrong with female refs, its the performance that counts, not the gender or race, and that performance was truely rubbish

The ref had a mare. Simple as. The fact she was a woman was largely irrelevant although it made some of the jibes easier/more obvious. You get dodgy refs at all levels regardless.

Definitely not the reason we lost, [color:"red"] we just never had anything upfront.

[color:"blue"] Well Gary, what can I say ? Maybe she didn't have 'enough up front' for your taste !

I thought I'd seen all the reasons given why the referee caused a team to lose a match !

We don't have that many female referee's in Surrey F.A. but as I've said before, the ones I've had to mark have all been excellent !

I could tell you a funny story about female referee and a certain clubs changing room, but that's another story and I wouldn't want to embarress a certain young lady from Oxshott !

If this is the same referee we had at Wexham Park a couple of years ago (lost 3-0 on a Tuesday night game to Wingate or someone like that) then she was superb on that game. Criticism is nothing to do with the fact she's female.

I can put up with referees, of any colour or sex, being crap as long as they're consistenly crap for both teams. What really gets on my tits (ironic comment!) is where the laws are applied inconsistently to the benefit of one team which is what we saw last night.

I don't believe the performance last night was because she's a female, just down to poor refereeing.

From what i've heard about this lady, (being mainly from reading on here and phone calls from Marcus, what with me being bed-ridden and all) it seems that she was indeed appalling... any ref regardless of sex, creed or colour who cannot give the correct direction for a free kick gives a bad name to all referees let alone female ones...

fair play to those who pointed out the ineffectiveness of the linesmen as well as her poor decisions, an area i feel is left out of criticising officials all too often...

here's hoping we have better luck against thurrock

"When referee Alison Chapman (*) pulled up with a calf injury just before half-time, the senior assistant took her place in the middle but that meant someone else had to run the line. As there are no fourth officials at Southern League level, an announcement was made “Is there a qualified referee in the ground?”

WHY COULD THAT NOT HAVE HAPPENED YESTERDAY???

I remember it happening many moons ago when there were'nt fourth officials at the ground, and the great Jimmy Hill donned a track-suit and ran the line at a professional game after a tannoy request !

Can't remember which match it was, though ! I'm sure someone like David Holden will enlighten us !

She did that when reffing our league cup tie at Thame Utd a few seasons ago. The linesman was goingto take over and she said she would run the line until it was poited out to her that doing that would be worse for her injury. She suddenly made a quick recovery to continue.

There was also another ref who did that at Stag Meadow leaving me to run the line for the last few minutes.
