Think CK has put all things over extremely well there. In fact I would go as far as saying thats the best interview I have heard him make. Says it all in a nutshell there. Shows his immediate commitment to the club and also shows his future commiment to the club should the council see sense and allow us to go forward from where we are. CK mentions the Kent League and says how catastrophic it would be for the club. After considering everything I have to agree with him and if this is the plan of the council to strangle us into submission to the lower leagues and thereby losing everything we have worked for and everything we have then I would ask the council to think again, think very hard again about their attitude and plans and change both to save this club and to see it rise up again ready for that progression that CK says can come about with him at the helm.

I think people are reading too much into what CK says in this and the RK interview. The truth is pretty obvious. If we get the all-clear from TDC, he will stay. If we don't, he will go.

Can only go by what we hear regardless of what we really think and what he said was more than welcome not to mention uplifting at this time. Am sure you are correct but for now Margate F.C. are still in business therefore his words of support for this club are gratefully received. The council should realise that its not just the club that their decision rests on but CK s future, our future, the future of this town, the future of the youth who even at this time have now set up a junior M.I.S.A SITE. The council will be letting many many people down here if they prevent us from progressing.

I 100% Margate through and through always have been since 1958.I know I am in a minority, but I think by keeping on at the council, and trying to persuade them, you are all barking up the wrong tree. All your efforts and well intentioned enthusiasm should have been directed at KP (Dont care what his fancy names are in the club Project director,Stadium development officer etc, etc,IMO he is still pulling the strings!!!)to get the proper Project plan.Business plan etc in order and properly presented to the council. For what ever reason over the last couple of years or so this they have deliberatley not done!! THIS IS THE REASON WE ARE NOW IN THE COMPLETE MESS WE ARE IN!!I honestly believe KP has brainwashed most people into believing it is all the fault of the Council and SE in particular, and most people have fallen for it and followed like sheep!!If it does all go wrong and lets be honest it looks likely, KP and his band of cronies although in charge when we went up and took the glory are the ones ultimately responsible for our demise. All this council badgering is too late and in the wrong direction IMO.

If the Council don't like the football club plans I would love to have seen the plans they saw when they let the Turner Centre pass.

Never ending costs, no builder appointed yet, testing of site not done(and when they were what a joke that was) and as for the business plan.

"no sure how many people we will get visiting, but they will not have to pay and the ratepayers can pick up the £1/2 million annual costs"

"that sounds fine. there is your planning consent"

Right! To that anon post. I DO blame the council. I dont need the facts. I have experiences of a Margaret Thatcher era when she did away with the unions in a similar way. Thats why I can see where the fault lies. The tories at that time had a pre-planned attack on the unions throughout the country and they started with us in 1988 the N.U.S.(after the miners of course). They conned us at P&O to go on strike and we fell for it hook line and sinker. The coucil are conning us into believing they are in the right but its just not the case. It just dosent make sense that the club havent done all that has been asked of them. The council are tory, the same lot as from Maggies day and they are artistes when it comes to conning people. You are one such person who is being conned. They want to help us yes they do. But only when we have run out of time to have a home anywhere. We will be forced to start again in the lower leagues with their help of building the ground back up at a substantially cut price to what it would cost them now. We would have had the club saved by them "WHOOPEE". And it is they who will get all the credit. There will be no commercial development to worry the local 3 or 4 residents who have put up protests. They would have been kept happy by this strategy. Nothing will have been removed or built around the ground. All this stalling our progress is MEANT to happen. Last year S.E said that to go forward we had to drop a league. We ran out of time at Dover and thus we had to drop a league. Now its happening again at Ashford. Running out of time. No more ground share there. The conference want a stadium built by August. The council just stall. Well now he is talking Kent League. Yes, they are playing a cagey game. At the end of the day they will be seen as good boys for helping us with the ground. The residents will be happy and the commercial aspect will have ceased to take off.The only thing we get out of all this is a football team in the lowest league imaginable. No large crowds to worry about,no parking problems to go with it all. So they think! They know their plan and they are sticking to it. Its got nought to do with the club not submitting anything. That has been done. The council will not have us succumb to their treachery of the electorate therefore any racking of guilt by us to them should continue until they realise that the people, the fans, the supporters and the CLUB are more important than a few residents and a bit of ground. The club must maintain its status no matter what. We must continue this fight to the end. We must not give up all the hard work the players past and present have put in to make this club a great one , not to mention the directors and chairman over the last 10 years or so and more. Not forgetting of course the fans, the supporters who have lived through those times and paid and followed that progression, to see this club get where it is today.Bet you have never even been to a football match in your life otherwise you would know what we are going through. If you dont like it go away and shut up but dont you dare tell us what to do concerning a club we all love. Leave us to fight the fight and THEN if we dont succeed you can have your laugh. Hows that for a compromise, you nameless coward.

We dont enter your house with smart remarks so dont you enter ours. The fight continues..Fact! Its not about having an opinion with you its just your sheer disbelief that we havent given up before now that pains you. Your damaging remarks will not stop us from continuing this effort that we ALL are putting in to preserve our club and status.. Go away and annoy someone else...Please!

100% Through & through. You have got to be joking.

I.M.O.

cookie where i agree that this council have not been at all helpfull it is not all their fault there have been huge errors on both sides imo the biggest was destroying our ground in the first place and i think we all know who is to blame for that.as for your other rantings i really believe this country is a far better place for margaret thatcher i wish we had a leader like her now

Cookie.

OK you hate the tories.Dont trust them. You could be right.

But your trust in Piper and Parmenter etc is well intentioned but is it misplaced.

Who knocked the ground down without permission?

Who scrapped the reserves and youth sides?

Who signed agreement to play at Ashford?

You seem to speak for a lot of the fans who continue to stay with the club and their version of events. But your out of touch with most people in Thanet who want to see the club return and trust neither the council or the club management.

Like a lot of people i worry that things will end badly for club and fans.

But it should never have come to this. The club should have gradually rebuilt Hartsdown and then a lot of [censored] could have been avoided.

On a personal note I also think that slagging off people who don't share your view about events is going to be counter productive in the long run.

All fans past present and future will need to come together if things do go wrong.

Should have, should have, should have does not help the present. What we have to do is look after the now. What constructive purposes on earth do constant recriminations for errors past serve, except to divide us and cause arguments?

As a previous post said some time ago, OK mistakes have been made in the past but must the club pay for them for evermore?

The current club is fighting to keep us in existence at the level we have earnt and deserved. And for that matter have the MISA, who give of their time generously, and for free.

The other option is to start again at the bottom, and anyone with a true love of the game and our achievements in it would find that totally unacceptable. It's bad for MFC, bad for Margate and surely will reflect badly on the politicians.

Most of us stay with the club because we see them week in week out struggling to keep what we have. We prize what we have, and value how close we have all become to each other. I have been around for a while, but this feeling of community that has grown up around this wonderful football club is rare and a treasure. I wish more people, if they were able, would make the trip to see this great team in action, they don't know what they are missing, plus it would be a tremendous help to the club to keep going.

Yes it never should have come to this, the club should have done things differently, maybe; the council should most certainly have been helpful. I won't say more helpful because from what I have seen they have been no help at all.

But better the club we have. And to be honest I have not seen a knight on a white charger rushing in to say "hey, here's a viable alternative chaps!" recently, or ever. Unless of course you are a particular lover of the lowest leagues in the county, which to be honest I have to say I am not.

And whilst we are here, lay off Cookie. He has a rant and a rave and wears his heart on his sleeve, and I do not agree with everything he says, but you know exactly who he is and what he is about, and his love for the football club is there for all to see and that makes him a friend of mine. Most of this feeling of community we have all benefited from since the demonstration is down to his hard work in getting it organised. Plus I can call him by his name as he is there for all to see, and does not sneak around behind a coward's cloak of anonymity.

And for that matter when did you assume we would all believe your arrogant statement that you speak for the people of Thanet? I was not aware of any referendum giving you the people's mandate to speak on their behalf.
