I agree with sky it did sound as if CK was keeping his options open. Who in his position would'nt. The situation will be resolved hopefully one way or another in the next week or so. Whether he takes the Gravesend job offer(if offerd)is i think dependant whethe G&N want to go back to a part time manager. At CK's time of life i would'nt give up a good pension for the uncertanties of being a full time manager .He also talked about his ambition of being the 1st manager to take a part time club into the football league. The uncertanties are beginning to take it toll on us a supporters who have little other than emotion invested in the club.I cannot imagine the pressure on those involved in the day to day running of the club and on Ck who has to answer constant questioning and have carrots real or fictitiouse placed in front of him on a weekly basis by the media looking for a story to fill either there pages or air time.At the same time having to go to training be positive and get the best out of his troops. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bow.gif" alt="" />

Is Gravesend really a better oppotunity? We have the basis for a Conf south winning side. Our squad is full of determined, loyal, and able men, both young and experienced, and from all kinds of backgrounds. In less than two weeks time, we ARE going to be given the go ahead for a brand new state of the art stadium which will put us among the elite in the non league, and right up there with some league 1 and 2 sides. The core of the Margate fans as well, are supportive, loud, proud and most of all willing to put there heads together in times of strife, to fight for their right to keep the club going and back to its rightful place. Now tell me if taking a job for a club which looks for all the world, doesnt look like its going anywhere fast, and is under threat from Gillingham FC in taking it core fan base, is a better job worth taking?

I know i am going to be slightly biased being a Margate fan, but for me, there really is no competition!

Good luck to you all then, nothing i've said has been unreasonable, just a different slant from the one thats on here. I hope you get your stadium/nightclub etc but it does look EXTREMELY unlikely you have to admit.

Still, i'm sure you loyal breed will be there be it conference v Woking or Kent county league v Betteshanger Won't you?

From Fleet watcher

Garry Hill will be unveiled as new Gravesend manager this week. Kevin Hales will be his no 2. Both will be working full time. Heard it from "the horse's mouth" as it were. THIS IS DEFINITE. So you can relax Margate you will be stuck with CK while you are still alive and kicking. Don't think he would have been the right man for us - his conference record isn't fantastic but probably the best at lower non league levels as proved with the promotions with Dover and yourselves. Keep fighting.
