WORTHING WALK UPDATE

Ian

Recommended Posts

It's just four days until numbers are due to be finalised for the sponsored walk to Worthing in April. Currently, a huge thanks must go to five people who have confirmed they will be taking part and who have paid their despoit of £25. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/top.gif" alt="" />

If you wish to take part in what is going to be a challenging, but ultimately hugely rewarding, fund raising exercise please let me know by Monday 31st January at the latest and ensure your deposit of £25 is paid. This is non-refundable and solely to cover the cost of any cancellation fees we incur for the accommodation if people cancel at the last minute. I will be at Stag Meadow on Saturday for anyone wanting to pay then.

I am also very pleased to conirm that the Supporters Trust have contributed £150 towards the cost of the overnight accommodation for those participating so the cost per head should not be prohibitive. Thanks to the Trust for their generosity and support.

Having driven the entire route last weekend, I can confirm that the total distance is a mere 59.3 miles! It's intended to cover 27 on day one and a further 22 on day two. That just leaves 10 miles to cover on the Saturday morning which is just as well, really!

We'll walk through some beautiful countryside and very picturesque villages but the highlight, other than finishing, will be passing "Pigbush Lane" in Loxwood on day two!

I appreciate that not everybody is able to commit the time to undertake this walk and if you cannot, please show your support for those participating through sponsorship and collecting on their behalf. Forms will be available next week. News of the additional event, which is the Brighton to Worthing walk on the day of the game, will be announced in due course.

Thanks.
