A few of us had a chance to speak to the new Gaffer and his number two last night.

 

They seem like a real top team. They also said that the more noise we make, the easier it is for them to get the team going! (A no brainer I suppose!)

 

He also said to me that he doesn't see any reason why we shouldn't be aiming for a play off place.

 

Let's face it guys, we need a little optomism and these fresh faces are going to give us just that.

 

Welcome Tony, now let the points roll in.

Certainly sounds optimistic. However, I was under the impression our ground wasn't up to Connie standards in it present form and that it would cost a few bob to get up to those standards? Therefore even if we did finish in the play-off's we wouldn't be going up anyway? Or am I missing the point?

not pessemistic at all U...I have my own views on what will happen this season and next....but as I read the posts about ground gradings for the conference if we wind the play offs it just struck me as ironic...

 

its only 11 weeks ago that were were bankrupt....busted and about to close... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I think if you did win promotion and your ground wasn't up to standard they would give you a year to sort that out and do the relevant improvements.

I haven't read a post since UU on the irony if we won the playoffs, so excuse any stupid comments or if it's already been said but....

 

....Could you imagine if we did win promotion, first things first, it's a good little earner, bigger fanbase and it'd shut up all them critics out there constantly wanting blood. Plus it'd be nice to shove that in Gray's face...

 

Oh, we can only but dream I suppose...
