What radio station's do you listen to?

Recommended Posts

I like Classic FM's "Chiller Cabinet"....on air between 2am - 4am Saturday and Sunday mornings. 2 hours unbroken music, each track blended in with the next. Plus you get the chance to recommend suitable tracks for the following weeks.

Surprisingly eclectic...not necessarily "classical" music...mainly ambient, chilled and trippy stuff.

Any "classic" music they do play tends to be modern, such as film soundtracks.

Mmmm nice. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/rasta.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

And you get to see the playlist while you're listening.

I tend to listen to the music I buy rather than the radio but if I had to pick a station it would be Xfm. Rather irritatingly full of ads and less good since it moved under the Capital umbrella but it is more likely to be playing songs I like/already own then anywhere else.

Best station i stay with is Invicta Fm. Kent station, they stay clear of local news, just play music. You can pick it up clear in North Essex. Suggest avoid breakfast radio on all stations, they all just waffle.

Invicta fm is quality.

Mand likes Essex FM, but I can't stand Martin Day he don't half go on, and on, and on. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

And if your going to get into the radio - and in your case that probably is physically possible Woody - you probably want to invest in digital. Get a far better range and quality.

I also listen to XFM, just a pity when they include any rap stuff like they do, and also at times PLANET ROCK which is online and digital radio, just classic rock.

Digital Radio is worth the cost for a cheap set.

Mainly listen to Virgin although agree with Timo that their playlist is very predictable and limited.

Listen to Talk Sport as well and BBC Essex for live sport.

Invicta FM is the best where I live, though is unfortunately a Kent based station.

Essex FM is quite good if you don't mind 25 mins worth of ads every hour.

Dream is pretty poo from what I've heard and has the worst breakfast DJ I've ever heard. Good Fri/Sat nights though when I'm tucking myself up in bed and everyone else is playing the dancey tunes.

Can barely get SGR (Such Great Radio - seriously!), which is a bit odd as it's a Colchester based one.

I generally find the DJs on Essex FM extremely irritating and haven't listened to it in a while.

I enjoy listening to Talk Sport but find just as they are getting on to a good discussion there is an annoying break for adverts (some of the adverts on there are quite excruciatingly bad!). I then get bored and start switching channels!!

Virgin is the same as well although during the morning they tend to play a fair bit of non stop music.
