I think he's going to Man Utd in a swap deal with Veron.

To be honest, I can't see why any top player would want to join Spurs when we're not even competing in Europe. There really doesn't seem to be a great deal of ambition there and we're getting further and further adrift of the elite few.

10th in the league, and Worthington Semi-Finals at the most this season, I fear.

Now there's an interesting question.

How about:

Wilmot;

Gould, Brown, Moran, [if Brown is injured: Townley], Hoeggenbecter;

Challinor, Evans, Oakes, Smith;

Martin, Sippets.

Subs: Mackail-Smith, Richards, Chapman, Cook, GHA.

Suspended: Castle & Keen.

Available: AFF

I don't know anything about football.

Hmmnnn.

So. In addition to Castle [someone said to me that he has a 4 match suspension coming up?], Oakes, Haagendaaz, Townley and Richards, you see Crawshaw, Ayres, Beevor, Chapman and Bridge featuring this season.

Hmmnnn.

Did I miss the announcement that a keen fan has won the lottery and donated £2500 per week to The Club? Fair play to that. I'm off to put a shilling or two on us to win the league at 33/1. These Bookies. Mugs, the lot of them. What do they know about anything.

see today's observer:

1) 19/20 players at the club at present with one more possibly but that has to be 16/17 by day one;

2) Crawshaw is temporary, no body has as yet spoken about money and there doesn't seem that much optimism about keeping him;

3) Ameriacn Hoggen-whatever was at Northampton and wants pro football - may stay on a match by match basis;

4) Strangely no mention of Oakes (other than in the match report) - not clear if it was a one off.

I can't see anywhere that says he is temporary and that there doesn't seem that much optimism about keeping him. As far as the money is concerned, I think you'll find we may get a surprise. I heard that he was talking to Aylesbury before he came to us and he was not looking for massive wages but Aylesbury had more than their quota of forwards already. We should be seriously looking at signing Crawshaw.

I can't be bothered with The Observer any more. Too many people "signing Pre Contract Agreements" and "committing their future to The Saints".

Did it really say that no body has discussed money with Crawshaw?

What happened then? Did he turn up at Stotfold and say "Hi. I'm Gary Crawshaw. The missus is having her hair done in the village and I'm at a loose end this afternoon. I've got my boots and I can play a bit. Any chance of a game? Tuesday? Err. Yes. I'm in Hemel visiting the In-Laws on Tuesday. I wouldn't mind a run-out in the evening. Cheers."?

I thought that it would be a little more sophisticated than that, particularly in view of The Duos' network of scouts throughout the U.K. what we can rely on.

Did it mention the Reserves? I heard that they had signed half a dozen of last years Yoof including Jamie Parsons. That lad showed great promise at the end of the previous season.

I'm pretty sure he's not looking for anything like what he was getting at Farnborough. With Sippetts, he has moved up the equivalent of 4 divisions and although he could well make the transition, I think he just needs some time to adjust at the moment.
