Barking & East Ham United 1 Eton Manor 2

Recommended Posts

Boys brought some pride to the ESL and themsleves by beating Southern League Div 1 high flyers Barking & East Ham Utd 2-1 in the Thameside Trophy Qtr Finals tonight.

Well done to Kirk, Larry, Jenko and the Boys who now face Aveley in the Semi's.

Hi Coup, you can only beat what's put in front of you! Talking to the Barking Manager who confirmed 6 first team players and 5 reserves!

Also 3 Manor players got the call up tonight for Essex County, Carl Prince, Jon Quinn & Tony Marsh, good luck lads well deserved.

Regards - MB

A game is a game. Reserves or first team. No matter what team is put out you have to beat them. 11 versus 11. Well done but dont milk it. Carry on like that and you will begin to sound as sour as the Enfield mob.

PS. Love Coutwotcoups Carlsbergs dig at Enfield. Sums up sad Chandler.

Great performance from the boys, carrying on from the performance on saturday. Looked dangerous up front and solid at the back. Midfield worked extremely hard to get forward to support and back to defend. Special mention to Danny Beattie who looked solid on his debut, Steve Richards because its hard for a keeper to come in after months on the bench but he was excellent, Glen Connolly for adapting his game to benefit the team and all the boys for their work-rate, spirit and committment. Big thankyou to Steve for all his support on the sidelines. 2 good games now so we must keep the consistancy.

Have to add my congrats to you all at the Manor.

Has anyone else noticed that the ESL has now settled down into a nice competitive league from top to bottom.

It occurs to me that a dozen more teams of similar ilk would make it a real force in non-league football.

Just in good time for the proposed level 5 reorganisation.
