Andy very sorry to see you go - by far the best manager we have ever had. The home game with Canvey, where the town came "alive" and the ecstacy at Bedford will long live in the memories of all Fleet supporters.

 

You can be proud in the fact you have left the club in a far healthier state than when you arrived.

I'm very disappointed to hear this. Judging by last nights display, you still had the support of the players and the majority of fans, as indicated by the chants of "Andy Ford's Red and White Army".

I've only been supporting the fleet since 2001, but ive still got loads to remember, especially of fordy, the canvey match, bedford, the Git 5-0!!! halifax 2003 last day, 4-0 vs daggers... well at least we can all look back on it and agree that he was the most successful manager in history and he took us far, good luck in the future and thanks for everything

Mr Hill sent McCarthey down there 8 weeks ago to pave the way for Ford's departure and his arrival. Hill already had the job BEFORE he resigned from Hornchurch. Mr Hill will undoubtedly arrive shortly to steer you towards the promised land claiming that he was approached AFTER Ford's resignation.

 

You know the score ,don't you?

If you say so mate, what reason do we have to doubt you!

 

It's a very sad thing to have to say good bye to Andy after all that he's done for us and great thanks have to go out to him for getting us where we are now. However, if he felt that it was time to go then he probably done the thing he thought was best for the club. Thanks for that too. If indeed he was pushed then it's a shame but this is what happens in football.

And a burst of the 'He's got no hair but we don't care' song as well. I wonder what was going through his mind then. Andy did wonders for this club and I wish him every success for his future, unless, of course, he ends up managing Canvey!!!

Good luck, Andy, I think you're going to be a hard act to follow.

Judging by the ambiguous use of 'backing' in the statement, I suppose we'll never know the full truth of it. I have to say that if he meant 'backing' in a financial sense it would be a surprise to me - surely Andy must know the score on what the club can afford, having been here for so long.

Thanks Andy for all your work over the years.

 

This is turning out to be a really bad day! I learn at work of rumours that there may be redundancies of up to 10% announced soon, then I get home to find out Andy has resigned! They say these thing come in threes... <looks round nervously> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
