next home game

I could not agree more, but alas I think you will find that if we lose to Dagenham this Saturday then the attendance at the Histion game will struggle. I predicted 750 last night on a thread yesterday but that was way over optimistic. I was disappointed last night at the attendance of 240, even though it was freezing. If we remain managerless for any length of time and results don't improve then the attendances could suffer badly.

As promised I was there. However due to another commitment, which I cannot get out of sadly, on Saturday 5th, I cannot attend the game. I full intend to attend the rescheduled Halifax game and this Saturdays game at Daggers though, plus all the remaining home games at least!

Still in a bit of shock over all this! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Surely you all should have been getting behind the club and the team throughout the season and not only now! Where was everyone last night? Sends the wrong message out to the players and the club when just 240 turn out. Then you all wonder why Andy Ford decided it was time to go, his job is to provide a reasonably successful team therefore getting fans through the turnstiles. A crowd of 240 is hardly condusive to him being viewed as doing well is it? Get through those turnstiles and get behind the team from now till the end of the season, prove to the club that you are loyal and you can make a difference, I promise!

It's not the cup your supposed to support, its the team, the club! No argument here, and so far as other clubs attendances are concerned, who cares? It's The Fleet that matters! Get behind them.

And it was £10 in a week when a lot of peole start getting Christmas Credit Card bills through the post.

Ive just booked my holiday and to be honest , GLS Cup is a little low on my list of games to go to.

I will go to Histon and all home games until my hols (miss last two) and maybe the odd away game.

I will go Saturday ,and a league game at Dagenham is a little more appealing then a midweek freeze your marbles of irrelevant game.

I can only afford one game this week so I had to make the choice. Holidays and Bills need to be paid.

A lot of people will be in a similar situation.

It's more than £10 per game. Round trip of 30 miles from Hempstead. £10 to get in. £2.30 pint of beer. £2.50 programme. £.2.50 Fleetburger. £1.00 to Harry for my 50/50 ticket. Grand total : over £22.

I have a wife, 2 kids, 2 cars and a big mortgage. And I had to get up at 0500 hrs this morning. That is why I didn't go.

And I bet others are in the same position.

I.ve got no excuse for not going last night. Me, I'm a part time punter, if they play rubbish then I for one will not pay to watch rubbish football. I'd sooner give the entrance fee to charity. Perhaps the Fleet should apply for charity status.

I wouldn,t mind if they lost as long as they played entertaining football

With excuses like the above we deserve to remain a small time club.

You can tell the real size of a club when the bad times hit, its easy to get those turnstiles clicking when the results are rolling in.

Lets remind ourselves we are a small time club punching well above its weight.

Lets hope we can find someone who is as successful as Andy was.

Have we finished taking the register yet?

Indeed. It's self-defeating arguing why people don't go to games. They've got their own reasons and why others should feel superior that they've made it to a game ahead of someone else, I don't know.

I'll get to any league/FA Cup/Trophy game I can, and have done for 15 years. I've paid £10 to stand in the freezing cold watching reserves and first teamers put in rubbish performances in Kent Senior Cup games... and come back for more.

But last night, given that I have other things to do, live 40 miles away from the ground, don't get home from work until 6.45 and didn't consider the competition or the price of entrance worth my while, I opted to stay at home. The crowd was indicative of the pointlessness of the competition and the high price of entry for a meaningless tournament.
