FINAL SCORE?

Terible first half, freezing cold, not many in attendance. Had me questioning what was I doing there. Plus my dad and my future brother-in-law couldn't help but take the smurf. Our midfield was over run in the first half again, but in the second we deserved a goal. We should of had one about ten minutes from time when a Borough player used his hand to stop the ball going in the goal.

Anyway this has not discouraged me from going to watch on other freezing nights, it's only made me more hungry. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Up the Fleet.

Our chances in front of goal were just not happening for us... Plus we lacked pace in defence to catch their runners... a few mistakes we made could have made it worse, but the goal they scored was a scorcher, a rapier shot from 20 or so yards... it flew past Wilko. Ports was back (he started and played 1st half).

I know one thing.... it was kin freezing up there last night.. thank god we had hot soup..!

Yes, a fine goal to win the game - curiously similar to the shot from out wide on the right that put them in front in their Conference game at Stonebridge Road earlier in the season.

Wobbly's summary is a fair one - but of course, it's an all too familiar one - playing poorly in the first half, improving in the second half with a lot of pressure but few actual chances created. On balance of play, we didn't really deserve to win - even with our second half pressure, Stevenage still should have extended their lead when one of their subs rounded Wilko but struck the outside of the post.

Porter was indeed back, but looked a little off the pace and was substituted at half-time. Just generally too many misplaced passes from most of the team.
