FRIENDS OF SLOUGH

Their has been a lot of talk and rumour on what are the motives of F.O.S as they have been or are going to talk to the Council on ways forward for the club.

Will the Trust invite them to one of their monthly meetings to find out what they have in mind and to see if there is common ground to work on if there is'nt a meeting how do we know what are they about.

We should be working together.

How can the trust invite an anonymous group to meet them? Three people's names have been mentioned in the local rag but surely the onus is on the FOS to identify themselves to the supporters?

I did'nt say they know what the supporters want just that they are well known to long standing supporters of which I am one, I have'nt got a clue as to what there motives are.

I'm just a long standing fan who has no knowledge of what goes on in and around the boardroom and does'nt want to, but like so many wants to see a bright and secure future for the club found.

I have'nt seen them at any of the games for a very long time also.

I "know" Bob Breen and Bryce Martin - and I have not been around for thirty years. What I am saying is if they truly want to help the club they are going about it the wrong way. They are in talks with the council - why? The council no longer has any connection with the club and does not own the Wexham Park site.

The Trust board should meet with them to identify their reasons for getting involved, and what they plan on getting out of it. Why they've not been in touch with the trust as yet though is another matter. They've been around for a while, and it's not difficult to get in touch with Trust board members - all the contact details are on the STST site - yet nothing's been forthcoming. That in itself, tells its own story.

They have made it quite clear they have no answers with the council and Thornes as yet !

and at one stage tried to warn us off trying to upset the council in what we were doing with our protests !!!

They know who we are ! and we have been around since the Thornes pulled the plug all those years ago ...

We have since formed a trust and have contacts !

they need to contact us - and open talks and put those items in the public domain...not go about things cloak and dagger style...

Spot on Chris, but do we not need to push the issue a bit, the end of the season is looming and i think everyone (Eddie,Players, Fans) All need to know what will be happening with the club next season, How are we going to be able to hold onto our top players if we cannot guarantee them we will have a club/ground next season!

we're pretty secure for next season arent we? doesnt the groundshare with windsor go on for another season providing we pay the rent?

these 'friends of slough' may need a bit of pushing by the trust, marcus is right everyone associated with the club wants to know if the club will still exist or if we will have a ground to play at, and that surely needs sorting sooner rather than later.

Well we need the money to actually pay the rent and PLAy next season, this year Deaner paid it (What a god send he is!) but if we dont have someone paying the cheques for next season, i doubt our kitty will cover it, so if we need to raise X£ i think it will be best if we all know ASAP so we can do the REBELS bank heist!

It's not necessarily the rent that's the problem as we could raise funds to cover that assuming it was in the region of £10-£15k per season. More of a problem are the wages and whilst I don't know the actual figure I'd guess that it's five times what we pay now for the rent. There's no way we could raise that without serious outside investment. So whilst we could afford to fund a ground we'd probably have nobody to play on it.
