GROUND GRADING .... Changes !!!

Recommended Posts

Clubs should have now received the latest Draft National Ground Grading Document from the F A via me which shows a radical change to those issued previously. The Criteria for Membership of the Step 5 Leagues will now be " F " and, for Exit to Step 4 is now " E " . The document will be implemented from the start of season 2006/2007 and all clubs to have appropriate facilities by 2007/2008. Main difference is cover for 200 of which 100 must be seated and " adequate security of tenure" rather than a fixed term. Surely better news for most but, at least, something to talk about.

Good work Mr Chairman.
"adequate Security of Tenure", sounds like a gray area though.

Wording on document says ;-

1.1 Security of Tenure

" Where a club does not own the freehold of their ground the evidence of adequate security of tenure must be provided "

And you know that the word adequate means " sufficient for requirements " , so what is the F A's thinking - more debate ?

Thanks for the info, I can just visualise what will happen in practice.

Romford F.C. have a three year lease somewhere. FA ruling - not sufficent.

XWZ F.C. (who might be loved by those that matter) same lease arrangement. FA ruling - thats fine come and join us.

We don't need to worry at ETFC.

The small band of 'brothers' at the working parties will do their damnest to get everything in order by the due dates.

Mind you, if more people gave up their time, then we would be in a better position regarding timescales.

Thanks to all those who give up their time for the cause. Let's see a few new faces on Sunday mornings.

Thanks for reading.

PS Southport - consistency across the country - I nearly fell off my chair!
