Let’s be realistic.

Braintree 5 Billericay 0. The performance was poor and Our pride was hurt,

But lets not forget that the week previous we were 2-0 up Vs Exeter.

Manchester Unt at Home couldn’t achieve that.

6-0 Vs Leyton, 4-0 Vs Yeading….Our team can score goals, we have 5 good strikers.

Is anyone seriously suggesting that (assuming we had a squad of 20 or so) we should have played a weaker team against Braintree than Exeter, or Visa Versa?

As for using the Trophy game as an excuse….No one did!

£500 pw for a new player…Didn’t a Local team try that recently. Lost 5-2 I think.

Our Club is having a wonderful Season, good gates, and the best fans.

Even after a 5-0 loss I would suggest, that most of the other Ryman Prem sides would like to swap places with us.

Were doing OK,

Ricay 3 Eastleigh 1 ??

I agree TC, we still have games in hand on Braintree and as Yeading lost meant we lost no ground on them.

We can still win this league, come end of season this will be forgotten

As TC says, you have to keep it all in perspective and keep cool although obviously a loss against local rivals such as saturdays 'sting's somewhat.

No fun being a fan sometimes is it...

I recall in last years cup run we beat Carshalton 5-0. (After we slaughtered a local team, can't recall who )...Anyway...the game was close and really could have gone either way, we scored 5 from 7/8 chances, they missed as many. A week later we drew with them in a league game at their place and were lucky not to get pasted

It happens. But the transformation in your club throughout the past 18 months has been nothing short of spectacular.

And by the way TC...I am still awaiting my VIP restaurant season ticket..fully inclusive inc nosh and rioja I understand...

Agree TC, the last few months have been exhilerating and we've seen BTFC playing some quality football (add Bognor to the list of top drawer performances), with Gazza's 'Ricay Whirlwind' blowing a gale.

All of which makes performaces like Saturdays all the more disappointing.

When the boys get the ball on the floor and dominate, they are irresistable, great first touches and movement all round and first to any lose ball.

However, when things don't go to plan, they sometimes look a bit lost. Even at 2-0 down on Saturday, we had a good 25 mins to half time and it was not inconceivable that something could be salvaged from the game, but it all went very quiet out there and they just seemed to lose direction.

i dont think anyone is really knocking the team's achievements this season, i think all the comments are purely based around what we saw on saturday. The lads cannot be expected to play brilliantly every week but it was the manner in which we lost which made the defeat hardest to take. what they have achieved this season is superb but saturday was bad.

Its just a shock when things change so suddenly. A few weeks ago we were in amazing form, and our defence looked like a rock. Now were conceding goals all over the shop. Ive said many times that i think the reason weve done so well this season is that weve always had a defensive foundation. Its a shock when thats what you think and then you keep conceding early goals, and then take a pasting and let in 5.

No one wants to get on the boys backs, one swallow doesnt make a summer, or whatever the expression is. I just think everyone was expecting to give Braintree a good game, and to go there and get hammered comes as a shock. Win our next two games and itll all be forgotten. But just for now, im worried its all going pear shaped, and im sure im not the only one.

Dont get me wrong, im not trying to get at you, or Jus or Matt, or any of the players, criticism only comes because we love the club and we want to see it succeed.

Rest assured…It’s not gone Pear shaped.

Normal Service has been resumed.

Remember the last team to take a liberty (Leyton) we doubled there score next time out.

We’ll get our revenge Vs Braintree at New Lodge 1st week in May.

Lets have a 700 crowd Saturday and let every one know that Ricay are THE Club.

Ricay 3. Eastleigh 1...a Mr Henty Hat-trick...he owes them one!

The proof of the pudding will be the postion at the end of the season... we're still in the box seat amongst the chasing pack in that we've got the games in hand to go well clear in 2nd... Braintree have played a fairly high percentage of their games at home (15/27) meaning they've got to play a lot of away games... Eastleigh will be a tough game, but our home form is pretty decent, and we owe them after they nicked an undeserved point at their place.

Paul, These days there has been a change of emphasis with grounds and gradings. Primarily 'cos the Football Foundation is broke, it's been agreed that clubs are to be allowed promotion and then given a period of time (I believe two years) to get their ground up to the standard required by the higher league.

The principle these days is improve after you move up, rather than improve so you can move up. Sensible I suppose. On that basis, any of us will be able to get promoted.

from what I remember the whole incident was very out of keeping with the rather dull match and certainly the atmosphere (or lack of it around the ground) that day. Until they scored that gut wrenching equalizer there was hardly any passion at all from the sparse home support, let alone a hint of aggro !!! Not exactly expecting an "Aldershot style" Hampshire invasion of Essex on Sat, though the table suggests their team has improved somewhat...
