Thought you might be interested in George's view ...

Braintree Town Manager George Borg was delighted with his side’s performance during Saturday’s five goal victory over Billericay Town - a result that lifts the Cressing Road club up to second place in the Ryman League Premier Division table - three points clear of the chasing pack and to within ten points of leaders Yeading, who lost at home on Saturday.

A beaming George said: ‘The lads were buzzing after the game and I can’t praise their performance highly enough.  Talking to Billericay manager Justin Edinburgh after the game, he was just shell-shocked and it’s nice to see all the hard work the lads and I have put in over the past few months starting to pay dividends.

Yes I know that, despite them losing on Saturday, Yeading are still ten points clear of us, but we’ve got them firmly in our sights now.  We’ve got fifteen league matches to play, fifteen cup finals for us if you like, and I want to make one thing absolutely clear.  Yeading will need to keep winning because this Braintree team are going to chase them to the very end.  My team have a strength of character, a steely determination and are getting better and better with each game we play.

The league table doesn’t lie.  We’ve now lost just once in sixteen league games - a tremendous record.  Nobody in the league has lost fewer games than us, we’ve got the best goal difference in the league and the meanest defence.  And we’re now starting to score goals as twenty-four in our last nine outings emphasises.

Yeading come to Cressing Road on Easter Saturday, but before then we’ve got seven league games to concentrate on and I’ll be looking to win each and every one of them.  I know that that big Easter game against Yeading is still some way off but what I will say is this.  Yeading will need by then to still be at least four points clear of us, otherwise I am certain we will knock them off the top of the table - I’m sure it will be one hell of a game.’

GAME ON! Perhaps EFM could sponsor the match?

Well, I doubt if there will be many Dingers wanting to take part in the penalty shoot out competition. I'll speak to the Flag and see what he has to say on the matter.

Oh, and I'll tell Georgie to ease off a bit. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/whistling.gif" alt="" />

Have City got a game on Sat 26 March?

Are the play offs at a weekend or midweek?

I'll take a couple of days for the first match if you get there. I assume if you finish 2nd you have home advantage all the way through?
