Charity Matches

Uncle Urchin has mentioned Hornchurch rasing money for Romford. My understanding of charity connections between the two clubs are limited to a match two years ago which raised money for local good causes.

 

I don't recall one club bailing out the other.

We played for The Bryco Cup, with the money raised going to The Hospice and the mayors charity. However when the final amount was confirmed, Bryco doubled it, and gave us a trophy as well. Gor good order i can also confirm all advertising and printing costs were paid for by Hornchurch.

 

I have met UU on a couple of occassions and know him to be passionate and knowlwdgeable about his club. As all Romford fans know there is no joy in their current situation amongst all but a couple of supporters.

 

However being no stranger to being in the brown stuff ourself and knowing how it hurts when people are dissecting your club, it may be wise if we stay on our own forum. If you are desperate for info either read the NLP or RR, who both seem to be covering it in full. It would be a shame to create a rift that cannot be healed once Hornchurch have stabilised. Remeber we need a strong Essex non league scene, and friendly rivalry, as long as it is on a footballing level. That's it, off to our forum now, promise.

Thank you for that post and also my apologies to Zody for slating him the other night. I know he meant well but his timing was...errr....somewhat poor... and his intentions somewhat ill advised.

 

We have all worked hard toward a good relationship between the two clubs and I for one agree that it would be a shame to spoil it. It has obviously been a traumatic time of late but we are working hard and light is there for us to see.
