SLOUGH Town chairman Martyn Deaner remains hopeful for the coming season despite FRUS Ltd having been placed in compulsory liquidation.

 

He has been quick to reassure supporters that he is still committed to the club and will still be pressing ahead with ambitious plans for a new

stadium.

 

FRUS Ltd was wound up in the Chancery Division of the High Court last month after a petition from HM Customs and Excise but Mr Deaner was quick to disassociate himself from the company.

 

"FRUS Ltd now has nothing to do with the football club and has had nothing to do With it for 14 months," Deaner stated. "It was just a little'

management company which hasn't traded for 14 months. It was just a vehicle for our own management purposes.

 

"I've been trading personally as Slough Town Football Club for the past 14 months," he continued to emphasise the point.

Dead reassurring that. So it's been in the Slough Express and Mr Deaner said it. So everything must be fine.

Best not to think about why on earth the taxman went to court to shut down a dead management company that hadnt done any business for over a year.

Has many have said before he couldn't run a piss-up in a brewery, how many companies has he been associated with that have gone bust, and in all honesty, who's gonna submit money to a new stadium project with him involved? <img src="/forums/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />

We had a bloke like him at St. Albans not so long ago all full of p.ss and wind. You need to make a concerted effort to get rid.

It's all fair and well saying get rid of him, but who steps in and foots the bill of the club? Our only income is through the marketing and gate receipts, which leaves a big deficit.

 

Remember, there aren't any other options until someone steps forward publically stating so - so it's him or bust?

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan by any means until he sorts out how he runs the club and starts doing it properly, but until we have someone else to step in and take his place, what real choice do we have?

Now before you bite my head off Gary, I am only trying to make a constructive contribution here. We went through something similar at St. Albans and yes, it was not very pleasant. The thing is, you must look at the big picture. I promise you, we were prepared to be thrown out of the Ryman and start again in the South Midlands League if necessary, just as long as it meant the removal of our then Chairman. Fortunately, in our case, it never came to this and a new owner purchased the club just prior to it being wound up but be under no illusion, we would have gone through with it.

 

Same old pie in the sky bullshit I notice - yours is a new stadium, ours was a new stand when neither of them probably has a brass farthing between them and certainly neither would even be capable of running a jellied eel stall on Southend pier. These self styled egotists are a cancer on non league football and the sooner they are removed the better for all of us.

 

It is vital that all the supporters stick together. He is totally dependent on those gate receipts and marketing monies but they will gradually start to reduce with each passing week he is still there and eventually the inevitable will follow. The good thing is that you will come through this and you will still have a club, whatever the final outcome and it will then be moving in the right direction. Good luck.
