FleetFanatic
Actually I have a hunch Mr. Ford will soon be on his way out of Stonebridge Road. Garry Hill for next boss? Resigned from Hornchurch today allegedly..... Wasn't there today as had other family engagements but from the texts I received it appears to have been a rather shocking performance. To be honest, those who want the club to move forward have a point - but they have the wrong target. Just as certain players are have found the step up to the conference a step too far, (example: Che now banging in goals again at Margate) the same can be said for managers - sometimes the conference is a step too far. Andy Ford is no longer the man to take the club forward. It's time to go.
Harry J Allstars
I half agree with you FF, I feel he will shortly be on his way. However I don't want him to be. I think his a quility guy and a great manager even if he does go I hope it's his decision and it's because he decides that he can no longer move forward. Gary Hill our new manager?????? Hmmm certinly an interesting one.
mikefleet
you may well be right FF just been on the Hornchurch forum and he has gone. but if Andy went and that is a IF maybe bring in Chris Kinnear i know he only wants to be part time but at the moment when are we going to be full time, with attendances like that today i thought there was alot more than there was. FleetFanatic
Not denying that Andy is a great guy but it doesn't make somebody a great manager. Can you see Andy taking Gravesend into the play-offs? I can't. Apparently Mr. Hill also wants back into conference management. Can you see any other clubs without a manager? If Andy goes I suspect that this may have already been 'a done deal'.

Kinnear??? No, no, no. Endless justifications for getting beaten such as 'we're only a small club'? No thanks.
Harry J Allstars
Quote: Not denying that Andy is a great guy but it doesn't make somebody a great manager. I know thats not what you were saying FF. We all know Andy is a great guy and as you say that alone doesn't make a great manager (otherwise why is Alex Ferguson a great manager), butAfter the Barnet game some people on this forum were saying Andy should go, all the registered people defended Andy. We have lost two games since then.
FleetFanatic
I have made my comments know privately to others before now. All this rubbish about full-time football & league football. It isn't going to happen with the current set-up.
Hempstead Gaz
For the first time Darren I am starting to think Andy's days are numbered. Clearly he is having difficulty in attracting the quality of forwards/midfielders we need to move on. Someone like Garry Hill may well have different contacts to attract those players. Whilst Andy and Ade were able to bring in excellent players like Bunce Macca and Pops, nothing has been done to address the problems up front. I now think that Roy and Manny are not at the standard we need. Roy is too static, Manny is quick but always falls over, looking for a foul that isn't there, and they play like strangers who have never met before. Forwards need partners, who they can rely on instinctively to be on the end of a pass or lay off. Look at the Aldershot pair. Class. And they were without D'Sane and Challinor. THAT is what we need to strive for.
Alan W (GNFC)
The guy who scored their 3 goals is on loan from Wycombe for whom he'd scored 6 goals in 16 games according to the match programme (but then it did also say that Chris Giles had been on loan at Fleet this season!!) - he certainly took the goals well especially the 3rd one. EUFC FAN
We need to get an assistant manager in! Reading that link above, it doesn’t look good for Andy, especially when the, usually; supportive fans boo the team off. Though that post may be poo stiring! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Things have been wrong long before he left.
