Yep, no doubt there are quite a few people having a chuckle in their cornflakes this morning over the result...who cares...Upon review of the NLP this morning St Albans lost 2 - 1 at home and are only out of the relegation zone by goal difference...Ryman League for next season becons and oh, how the Blue Army will chuckle...

Gazza my old china, you need to be in the league to get relegated from it, something you may or may not well find out over the next 5 years.
And we'd go to the Southern League.

If your so confident on us going down would you like a little bet?

I must say, I'm a little confuesed by that post...If it's okay to chuckle about our misfortune, then I'm sure, we'll chuckle over yours, given the...er...history...Or am I missing the point here...

Never mind, don't explain it, I'm sure in "EMF" world it makes perfect sense...

I wasn't having a go, just jesting than to be releagted from the Conference South you need to be in it, which of course your not

Apologies to Simon, the Shoot for a Meal, had to be cancelled for the first time in two seasons of doing it, Shaun went out on the drink Friday and never returned, I spoke to his brother today at the U18's, they have not heard from him since Friday.

Simon was presented with the voucher, this can be used upto 6 months at Mr.H / The Venue. (Sunday's only)

No worries... spent the morning at work trying to work out the last time I'd kicked a football... suffice to say we're talking years, not days here

Still bloody shellshocked here. How the hell did we lose a game 5-0 after winning 6-0 just three weeks previously against another top 5 club ? OK Braintree didnt have two sent off, and boy were they up for it - I'd go so far as to say thats the best side I've seen against us this season - but we did make them look good with poor defending and not a single shot on target all afternoon. I don't want to believe we played like that because of the Exeter game coming up and I'm sure Justin and Matt drummed it into the lads that the two games either side of Tuesdays replay are MUCH more important, but you know what? If it was genuinely felt that the Billericay side that "played" yesterday performed so poorly because of Exeter, I would put the youth team out at St James Park so those that were "saving themselves" didnt actually get to take part in the game they had their minds on!

As I say, I don't honestly think that was the case, I think we just got caught out by a good side on top form, but it's a thought...

And much respect to the Ricay fans who stayed to see the team off the pitch respectfully and not call for the managers head or resort to heat of the moment abuse at the players - on past experience I was expecting the worst! Encouragement is the way forward at all times...

Im very glad i wasnt there, as i would almost certainly have walked out early. And i never do that. Closest i ever came was some years back when we were losing 5-1 or 6-1 against Chesham or someone. Glad no one abused the players, one (or two) bad days doesnt call for that. A better class of fan.

well, we havent become a bad side overnight, and most teams find themselves on the end of a freak result but no one would have imagined it could have been as bad as it was on saturday.

I dont really like to be negative towards a team that has done so well this season but the lads have to expect the barrage of critisim thats going to be said. Not one of our players can be excused.

Gothard was rightly booked, the incident was wide of the goal and their lad had plenty to do, but McSweeny should never have put his keeper in that position by giving him such a stupid back pass.

I know one of the braintree players and he said their tactic was to get it long down the wings and over the back four as none of our defenders are blessed with pace. I think you will find that this was spot on as all the goals came from either a long ball or a ball over the top (apart from the pen). It may not be pretty but they played to a weekness of ours and exposed it perfectly. Personally I wouldnt have said we were that slow at the back but on Sat we were playing statues at the back. In midfield Jamie Dormer owes us a captains performance as he has gone missing in the last two games and is the quietest captain. Its easy to knock individuals and normally you can get away with one player having a stinker but when all 11 decide to have a stinker on the same day we were doomed. Agree with JL, Braintree looked very good, forget about timewasting tactics, and the physical side to their game, its not pretty but effective. They wanted that result much much more than us.

Im certain of one thing, and thats that the players will be the most dissapointed as i think we can all see what it means to them when we score and win games.

We were outfought all over the park but we never looked like scoring and its not the first time. We need an experienced striker, not the best and promising player from a lower team, we need someone who will hold the ball up for us and tuck a few goals away. I think we need 3 more players, a defender, midfielder, and a striker which would create a healty competition for places.

what was wrong with Stowey on sat?

I think for us to bring in a player on 500 nig ones a week he has to be worth every penny of that. Bertie is a good player but he never really set our team alight, and is proving not much better at heybridge. We need someone proven at this level that can get us some goals and help Ross, Cous and nathan to get better as they are still young lads. who knows where the answer may lay!!

Folkestone's average includes a gate of 2278 for their game against Dover on Boxing day. Braintree's average includes a ficticious gate of 895 against Chelmsford and their other "big gate" provided for them by us. Our Boxing Day game was postponed which obviously would have boosted our average somewhat. Knob off [****!!****].
