Let`s not get too despondent,McKimm will be back soon and perhaps the Drury Knockers will have seen how much we need his creativity.When Moussa came on things livened up a bit,and it usually took at least two defenders to slow him down.This should have created some space in the box,but we just don`t seem to have the know how to take advantage of it.Pinnock was obviously selected to make late runs into the box,but with the lack of service from midfield this did not work out.Andy`s half time substitutions seemed about right,bearing in mind the lack of penetration down the right side.Thank God we`ve got Jamie Pullen,played superbly again today.Looking at the centre back pairing,I thought Bunce and Popovic looked the best bet when paired together against Crawley;Bunce andMcCarthy look too slow together today.Get Ben Surey match fit, and with Jukebox and the original Macca back in midfield ,we should start playing football on the ground again!Sadly,I think we`ve seen the best of Essendoh.At the moment I`d sooner have Rob Haworth leading the line.End of the day,Andy has got to get it right,inject some confidence in the team,and sign some quality,not offload decent players while we`ve got insufficient cover.Tuesday`s attendance will be interesting,having heard some of the mumblings, going out the ground this evening.It`ll cost a tenner and all!

A poor display today by us of course, but credit to Aldershot for a deserved win, and a fine display by Dixon up front. I'm not always Jukebox's biggest fan, but as meldrew observed, we missed his creativity today. Once again, it was frustrating to see us have our best spell of the game straight after half-time, and then promptly concede at the other end. Also, after our goal back, I don't think we created any chances whatsoever after that.

As for Andy Y. nominating Surey as a potential man-of-the-match - I know you tempered your comments somewhat lower down the thread, but I thought he was very poor today - quite a way below his best.

Can't be arsed to trawl through all the previous messages, but yesterday's game was the worst yet. We were sh!t. Manny and Moussa were on a hiding to nothing, nobody else was bothered. Roy spent more time out on the wing than in the penalty area, were he belongs. Gledhill should join Dartford, he might just find his level. Bunce and Skinner did what little they could, but where was McCarthy? Pinnock and Surey, did they play? Some fans sang a limp version of, 'There's Only One Jimmy Jackson'. Thank fnck for that, he's to slow and passed it. Proths, injured and lost in midfield. MOM Pullen. Andy, you're lost.

 

We talk on here about building up the fan base. On yesterday's showing we should be back in the Ryman. At this moment I won't be renewing my season ticket. However, a summer with no football will probably change my mind.

If you don't rise to the bait, Harry they soon go away. Most of them are Gillingham supporters - they are desparate- can't fill their old ground, seem to need to franchise themselves to where a quality team already play, shedloads of debt and a fat, ugly, myopic chairman who is quitting in 4 years time.

Oh, and don't mention Pulis in conversation with the Scally - of the Gills independant supporters association. He really doesn't like them.

To be honest, Gary, we shouldn't really flatter ourselves - being realistic, most Gills fans couldn't give a monkeys about us, given that we are three divisions below them.

And any chance of passing them must stay a dream at the moment. I thought the result actually reflected the play, Aldershot were very classy up front, we weren't.

We made 2 mistakes at the back which were punished. Apart from that we actually dwefended quite well. Bunce, Pullen, Macca and Skins all had good games.

What we lack is flair and creativity in midfield and clinical finishing up front.

But then again, if we had that we would be in the top 3.

I don't think Andy should be replaced, as it would improve nothing.

That is not to say Brian will no doubt want results and crowds to improve before the end of the season.

Can't agree more with the fact Aldershot were good up front. They outpaced us most times and this is the only thing negative with the Bunce/Mccarthy partnership.

 

The third goal was great for them, from what I remember he looked to be going out wide, and ended up pulling off a great shot straight into the far corner.
