Very quiet on here!! does that tell me something?

Everyone severely p------- off?,looks like a bad defeat, even though the Shots are on a good run.

The way things are shaping we are going to be sucked into a near bottom of the table struggle, how has it all gone so horribly wrong?

Yes we do need, at the very least one good quality striker, if not two,but I do sense that there's a lack of confidence running through the team at the moment, and some of the things happening off field can't be helping.

Thank heavens we had a decent start to the season 'cos that's all that's keeping us from being relegation candidates now,and even that is beginning to evaporate.

I, like many others had high hopes for this season even before we'd kicked a ball in anger, though I never for one moment believed we were play-off candidates,I felt we would probably be in the top 10,I certainly didn't expect this current decline, can anyone out there give me any signs of encouragement?

No, I can`t see any signs of encouragement, we just seem to be repeating the same old tactics of the past 2 months. Did we relly test there keeper today apart from a few haders? - we were the home team for God`s sake. We battled well at times but our forward movement & delivery to box was poor as usual. Sure they had some good players but i`ve seen us play much better teams this season.

Even introducing some new blood, if AF can find it, will take time to realise benefits. Its definately a confidence thing at the moment.

Nope! Couldn't see anything to show any sign of us coming out of this bad spell.

That was one of the worst performances I can remember. Everyone and I mean everyone played like they were a bunch of strangers. Skinner appeared to play the Aldershot forward line on-side for the first and after that we were struggling. Gledhills mistake for the second and a good finish from more poor defending for the third really didn't flatter the Aldershot front line at all. Dixon looked very sharp and troubled the back line all afternoon and Sills may be annoying but was very effective.

Thought McCarthy and Bunce actually did ok but are they really any better than the players we have off-loaded? and they are woefully lacking in pace. Lets hope we can get Porter fit soon, reckon we need him, big time.

But the most obvious problem is the lack of fire power up front. Roy just doesn't look fit to me, is he still carrying an injury? Its not his game to hold the ball up but who is there to pick up on his flick ons? There were many occasions today when our midfield came forward and had nobody to pass to.

If Andy wants to keep us in this division he has got to sort things out ....... and quick!

Man of the match for us? At a push, Surey and maybe Pullen for keeping us in the game.......... God its depressing at the moment isn't it!

Have any of the new signings improved the team?

Sure Macca2 looks steady & obviously influential,

but it seems to me that in October when the goals started to dry up - we changed the defence !!!!

I thought man of the match should be either Pullen, McCarthy or Bunce. Bunce maybe edging it.

I thought Surey did well, but he had two good opportunities to put in through balls and failed...

Hmm, not the best of days. With the exception of Saunders' goal, did we have any shots on target? I recall Essandoh's first half header going over/wide, then the second half header going wide but was cleared away anyway, but neither was on target...

Yes you're right about Sureys failed passes, but at least he was trying something and he is only just getting back to match fitness. Agree with your comments about Bunce and McCarthy too. McCarthys experience is quite obvious and the way he handled Sills antics in the penalty box at one of our corners raised my opinion of him about 100%!

It was interesting to see how far Aldershot have moved on in recent weeks after a stale period. But then they have the resources to successfully compete in The Conference. Sadly, The Fleet have not only gone stale, they are begining to rot! It was exposed last week that the the team is unable to compete significantly even against teams from lower leagues. The Histon game is likely to be another stark reminder. It is only the demise of Leigh RMI and the points deducted from Northwich, that sadly for them, provide a comfort zone to teams in the bottom half. However, the third relegation place is looming into view! A mid-table finish will not happen with current performances. It simply is the case that The Fleet are currently just not good enough, yet the team comprises mostly of players that back in the Summer were awesome. What has gone wrong? Why has it all fallen apart?

Case of Aldershot taking chances and us not, thats what I thought but probably just like last week I will see things differently from the rest of you.

I feel we have lost 3-1 at home to the best three teams in the division. Aldershot out classed us today, finishing, defending and in the midfield not to metion winding us up and using the referee to their advantage.

Signs of encouragement not many I agree why do we always lump it up in the air? Fords not on his way out we got lucky last season and now were getting our comupence. This was the first game this year (2005) where we conceaded a goal and our first defeat in 4 league games and six games in all comps.

Were not going to go up I know but were not going to go down either. We need to stick together, dig in and KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!!!!!

It was more the refs fault then anything today we battled well but the third goal took the stuffing out off us a little. Roy needs his confidence back in front off goal. And we need to start scoring open goals!

Thats the spirit, blame the ref. It was all he's fault that Aldershot are class up front.

But seriously we did battle well today we just got out fought by the better team.

Well I must say that I am extremely disapointed with the team performance for the last three games.

I don't wish to upset anyone, but the fault seems to lie with the coaching, which is down to Andy. What is going on? there has not been any cohesion with the side at all, schoolboy stuff, kick and rush, and hope for the best. I saw more action in the car wash on the way out than on the pitch and, there was only one car waiting.

At one stage I thought all the players were going off the pitch as they appeared to heading for the tunnel as the goalkeeper prepared to take a goal kick. A couple of Collie Dogs on the pitch wouldn't have been amiss as the players followed each other like sheep. Whats so wrong about creating space and laying balls off

How many players have we seen come and go this season. Does anyone keep count. We have let players go that should not have gone. We need a regular team in this league to be consistent. For what good Andy has done as a full time manager, perhaps he should have stayed part time, and the club could have saved a bit more cash.

Can anyone tell me where all the funds from gate receipts, ground share, snacks, clubhouse etc are going to, or are we building a pot of cash

I'm not condemning any of the players as they appear to be doing their level best, but their confidence is on the wane.

It looks as though we will have trouble retaining the new fans on the showing today. It will take a whole season of playing well to bring in old and new punters.

I have that horrible feeling that we will see again, the mass exodus of players at seasons end.

Yeah, I think I should repeat my earlier comment - Bunce was great. He's good with the headers.

Aswell as clearing the ball out of the stadium. Genius.

I thought Sidibe looked better today than against Eastbourne. I was not impressed by his performance in that game. But today he did alright.

I don't think Protheroe should've been subbed off. He's impressed me a lot in the handful of games I've seen.

How was it the Refs fault? Aldershot were the better team from start to finish, despite having roughly even possesion they scored three and would have had more but for three excellent saves from Pullen, We scored one and forced no saves from their keeper.

Everytime Aldershot attacked they looked dangerous whereas our idea of attacking seems to be to pump a high ball doen the sidelines and hope.

It was no surprise that our goal came from a set piece as we looked inacapable of creating a chance from open play.

When was the last goal from open play? When was the last time we saw a player get near the goal line for a sidibie cross? When did we last see a player run with the ball into the penalty area?

Can't remeber that fair play, but then can you remember the last time our players didn't show spirit?
