Weren't Chelsea in the equivalent division when he got control of them for £1?

 

He obviously got involved with Leeds for less of an outlay than his original interest in Sheffield Wednesday.

Fair point , well presented. Thanks for the heads up FF. You're obviously more spammed up on this type of activity than me. Still, I'd be worried if I were a Leeds fan.. hope I am wrong.

The gulf between the top two divisions is now far bigger than it was when he took over Chelsea all those years ago.

 

Personally I hate Ken Bates, but West Ham's Terence Brown isn't any better.

Thanks to the commitment of the Board at Sheff Wed ( and the bank who they owe all the money to !!) Bates didn't succeed in his attempt to get involved with Wednesday. For those that are interested, his £10m

"investment" was not going to be used to reduce the debt, and therefore did not get the approval of the major creditor i.e. the bank.

 

Despite the rumblings of some ( and they are entitled to their opinion), in my view, Sheff Wed should be glad to see Bates turn his attention to another club.

 

Good luck Leeds.....no, I don't mean that at all really !

 

On a different note........get them Strongbows in for tomorrow...I feel a thirst coming on...and a 3-1 victory against the Shots....Hurrah !
