Bucks/Berks Cup v Wycombe Ticket Details

Recommended Posts

I have emailed Wycombe asking about ticket prices for the cup match against the Rebels:

"Could you tell me the details for tickets for the Wycombe v Slough Town match on the 1st of February please, for both home and away fans?"

I recieved the follwing reply:

"The tickets are priced at £6 adults and £3 concessions"

Hopefully this will help a few people.

Which is exactly why so many fans don`t post on the forum now. As it seems it is a forum for the few. If its not a thread started by the "usual lot" then people just dismiss it out of hand. This lad has obviously thought it would be helpful to post ticket prices for the Wycombe game and then 2 posts following just ridicule it. I would rather have this posted on the forum than some of the crap posted on here most of the time especially woody and pissing himself etc

I appreciate that the sarcasm was a little harsh but if you look back over recent threads. The same couple of people have been asking the same question over and over again about ticket prices and coaches for the Wycombe game. This game is still a good way off - we have Eastleigh and Cheshunt to think about first - and the first few times the responses were generally we don't know yet and we willl post the information on here as soon as we know about it. Clearly it has been driving some people to distraction and I am really glad the poster has satisfied his curiosity.

I apologise if it appeared I was ridiculing the poster - I don't equate sarcasm and ridicule as the same thing. It was just the fact it is not something that was bothering me and I thought it midly amusing that he had gone to the trouble of e-mailing Wycombe to find out the prices. I welcome all posters - including the anonymous and the irrelevant and the crap - but if your going to put something on a public forum you have to face that it will be responded to.

Agree, Richie. Slightly unnecessary response from Martin and KoC to what some may have deemed as useful info although I'm not sure either was doing anything more than having a laugh.

The forum shouldn't be seen as a closed shop for certain people and I don't believe it is. However, people posting deliberately confrontational messages and blatanty refusing to either register or, at least, post their name deserve any abuse they get, in my opinion. Personally I just ignore anyone not big enough to own up to their views. Anyone else is more than welcome.

Mrs Anon this forum could be for you too but who are you?

I started posting anon initally but soon found that you got a better response if you put a name to your post and an even better response if you were logged on.

As per the point about Martin and KOC's response, bide your time and when they put a stupid comment on the site have your revenge!

With Martin you may have to wait a while but once KOC has had a drink - which wont be long, he will give you plenty of ammunition!

Final comment - look how many posts go on this site and how much activity there is and that will give you an idear of its sucsess.

It might seem like a 'forum for the few' if you look at how many posts the 'regulars' have tallied up over the years. But I think we'd all welcome new posters, it's just the fact that some people post anonymously and having a username, even a silly one (or signing up) would be better for all concerned.

I personally want as many Slough Town fans as possible to use this forum. It's fairly lively as it is but other peoples' opinions and views would be fantastic IMO. Since the Walsall game we've had a few newbies and long may it continue.

I've always said that the more people who post on here the better, so newbies should be encouraged. I think Davey boy has proven it's not too difficult to use this forum, but there's still a fair few who look, but don't post.

There was the argument which Radders had with the Swedish Rebels regarding their ratings a while back in which Wayne came on and said that was why he didn't post, but it's all about discussion, not necessarily agreement with whats written.

ARAAS, thanks for the info. I'll keep it to hand and put it on the site closer to the time of the match for people to refer to.

Sorry if i have annoyed anyone by continually asking for details, but it is rare that i get a chance to go and see slough play, so when i do find a fixture that i can go to i really want o know details asap so it can be sorted. It is especially difficult as i have no links to the club as i am not a regular every-game-fan. Im glad to see that you want the forum to be more open as well.

Come to think of it you may have seen me at a couple of games, before i got my Rebels shirt i used to go to Slough in a yellow Southampton shirt, and got some very funny looks for it too!

Glad to see you have not been put off posting!

I appreciate that not everyone can get to every game and you need detail but we only usually hear about away games at the home game immediately before it and even then not really with entrance prices etc. As I am sure you will have seen coach details always end up posted on here.

The only way to ensure it is an open forum is to post - so those that have been put off - come on express your opinion. I and others might not agree but it is your opinion and therefore can never be invalid.

Anyway, ARAAS see you at the Causeway.

would like to point out that if "outsiders" were not allowed to post, i wouldn't have been able to make my contributions.... leicester is a long way from slough... and i know i've done the nice thing and registered and come to see as many games as i can etc etc...marcus and i only registered when the rumours about it becoming compusory came about

in my view new posters are always welcome provided they are constructive and not just blatant slagging off our boys for no good reason

I think the problem is - if there is a problem - that the vast majority of regular posters on here are from the behind the goal lot. We watch the games together and sort of know each other. We therefore read our posts in a certain way - knowing the stance of the other posters. For newbies or those who stand elsewhere it is more difficult.

But I can't stress enough that new posters are always welcome. If you look through old threads you will see that I am one of the strongest supporters of anonymous posts.
