recently one of the veiws on your website ,stated that all football fans should get behind Margate no matter what there allegence, i am dissapointed and dismay at the view of MR Ron Hewett in the KM EXTRA quote "we love Margate fc and if it does dissapear i will go to Charlton to watch my football - I certainly wont cross Thanet to watch Ramsgate play" where not the other day Margate supporters club calling for supporters of all clubs worldwide to help their cause yet Mr hewitts view seems to be very arrogant and self centered is this the veiw of all Margate fans and the supporters club or a personal one of Mr Hewitt obviously his view is Ramsgate supporters should back Margate but two fingers if Ramsgate where in the same position

The very reason we ask people to support us is so that we can continue with this club and NOT to have to go elswhere. Wanting to go to see Charlton is not a bad reflection on you or your club but you have to understand that Mr.Hewitt ,who is getting on a bit in life, much the same way as I am is stating his case should his beloved club fold. He has supported this club all his life and therefore would find it hard to cross over to watch our counterparts in Ramsgate.

He is by no means demeaning your club but stating in his way his loss at losing his club and how hard it would be for him personnally to suddenly switch allegiance to the "OLD" enemy of years gone by.

I for one would never have the same feeling for Ramsgate as I have for Margate. I would go and watch them as I am sure Mr.hewitt would on more occasions than he may let on but with the cheap laid on buses provided from Charlton it would give him a chance to get to see premiership football by just getting on and off a bus. He dosent walk that well at present. Had this not been laid on I am sure he would go to Ramsgate to watch SOME kind of football. Maybe in time he and other margate fans could come to support you as you do, but that would take a lot of persuasion.

I think you are over-reacting with his comments. There is a bus service laid on to go to Charlton at a very reduced cost and it takes probably one hour and a bit to get there. He is not a young man so why cant he choose to see football of this nature at his time of life. I would imagine there are fans from your club taking up this offer too rather than go to watch your own side. Of course they wouldnt really be fans would they but thats life.

Given this opportunity to watch premiership football at a low cost with minimal upheaval and ado is and would be tempting to many people, including Ramsgate fans.

All his remarks are clearly stating that if his club who he has followed all his life were gone then like many of us our hearts would have seemed to have been ripped out. He is not saying you are a bad club at all but really do you really expect him to suddenly become a devoted fan to your club from the off..How hard would it be for you or a Ramsgate fan to suddenly switch his allegiance to us. Think it would take a lot. We all neverthe less look for your results at the weekend too so in some ways that in itself shows we arent heartless towards you. You are our neighbours and friends but you cant expect us to suddenly change to being a Ramsgate fan.

We are looking for your support to keep us alive as a club deserves, and secondly to show your disgust with a council that dosent care. For football everywhere. Thats what we want your support in. Please do not take one persons words out of context, or assume that we all speak in his way. I am positive he doset mean to demean your club in the least.

I personnally would like to thank you for your support if indeed it has been given.

I really cant answer for him but that is my opinion of what he means. He is not on the internet so I feel someone should speak up for him in this instance.

I have know Mr. Hewitt for a quite time personnally through the club and you can be sure of one thing. Should these roles be reversed and it be you in trouble then rest assured he would most definately be supporting you as all us Margate fans would be. Up the "GATE" Margate & Ramsgate.

Cookie, first of all you talk utter rubbish and get your facts straight before you open your mouth again.

How can you say the council does not CARE?

Of course they do and they want to see football at Hartsdown park. The council are not to blame for this saga, it is down to the football club.

So holding a protest or getting a petition, (which I may add is worthless!) is a waste of time and doing margate cause no good whatsoever. The council has given the club plenty of chances to get their act together and submit proper plans to rebuild Hartsdown park. Margate FC has repeatedly failed to do this and you cannot expect the council to give them another chance!

So the fans and yourself need to stop blaming the council and making the scapegoat and focus the blame on the board of Margate FC.

Now I don't want to see the club fold, infact the club should never of demolish the ground. So there must be a solution to this and there must be a back-up plan for just the rebuilding of the stadium and nothing else.

The club had a brilliant team and was doing very well in the conference, all they needed to do was to update or rebuild the stadium. THAT'S ALL!!!

No, they are not content with that, they want a casino and multiple football pitches on the side!!!!!!

Well, whoever had this stupid idea is responsible for the demise of the club.

Is your house next to the ground by any chance?

And whats your post got to do with this thread. You really are worried aren't you. We were there before you dont forget!

I am proud to be a margate f.c. fan and supporter.

With comments like yours, whether some are true or false, and at this particular time in crisis are not needed or respected.

If you dont care about the club please refrain from coming on here...TWAT!

I would really like to know why you are so against the club, and wish its demise. Perhaps I hit the nail on the head with my first sentence.

If what we are doing dosent work well at least we can hold our heads up high and say "We gave it all we could".

Where is it that I am two faced as this thread is entitled "two-faced"?

Probaly started by you in the first place.

I will not get into a slanging match with you from now on and I advise others to ignore you too. We have more important issues to deal with.Like getting the stadium built and have you get the hump because of it and thereafter moving out of a town that you obviously dislike.

To the Rams fan, take Ron's comments as a compliment.

It is better that fans of local rivals dislike you than ignore you.

Personally, I have nothing against the Rams and I know there are some Margate fans who go to Southwood occasionally.

Ultimately it does not matter a great deal if fans of other clubs back our cause or not. Though of course we are grateful to those who do!

To John Baker, there is no doubt that Margate FC have made mistakes in this sorry saga, but I definitely have the feeling that TDC have been less co-operative than they could have been. In fact some would say they have been downright hostile.

You say the club should have just rebuilt the stadium. Where would they have got the money to do that? Yes, grants are available, but they would only pay for part of the development.

The commercial aspects of the scheme are needed to help pay for the building work. Some say that aspect of the scheme is too ambitious (and they may have a point), but anyone who thinks we would have just been able to knock up a new ground and NOTHING ELSE is living in cloud cuckoo land.

The protests and petition may be a waste of time but it is better than doing nothing. And blaming the club would achieve nothing at this stage. Better to put pressure on the council in the hope they might, just might, buckle. At least we're going down with a fight.

Cookie, you need to take your blinkers off! You HAVE to respect other peoples views! Otherwise, how can you expect people to respect yours?

You are obviously passionate about the club and equally passionate in your loathing of the council, but please respect others views and remember that there are two sides to every story and to keep a balanced view all parties should be allowed the right to free speech.

I know you are sympathetic to the council Ian so I will ignore your comments. I think I am very fair but will not take abuse and when it comes my way I will return the compliment. Havent seen you around lately supporting the club. Not at demo, not at games. When you are as passionate about the club as some of us then perhaps your opinion will be worth something.I replied in the way I did because I was verbally attacked.Ironic that you should post on a thread entitled "two-faced".

Ian's wife works for the council which is probably why you never hear him say anything bad about them. Where's our united front gone? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />

Bit of advice Cookie.

Shut your trap sonny. as the mouthpiece of supporters that you think you are you should not be going round slagging of other fans or other people just because they can see both sides of the coin, which you don't seem to be able to. Just have a little think next time eh...

[censored] the [censored] lot of you then. And I aint your sonny! If you read down this thread from top to bottom you will see that at no time have I said anything about someones opinion being wrong, well not at the on set anyway. Think you will see that it was I who was verbally attacked first.

I am not the voice of the fans but I am a voice AMONGST the fans. Hope the club survives and apologies for any upsets caused but I say it again. [censored] the lot of you.

Mark who? Anonymous who? It's a good job Cookie never kept his trap shut a couple of weeks back or momentum would never have got going to save our club and the council would have had cart blanche to kill the club. I believe the demo with public focus on them stopped this happening.

REMEMBER THIS IS AN OPINIONS FORUM.
