The official Dorchester website has some recommendations :

Heading back down Weymouth Avenue and just past Maumbury Rings is the first of the recommended pubs for visiting supporters. The Station is not only handily situated to the Stadium (a ten minute walk at most), it's also a prime location for supporters travelling by train. As if the name hadn't suggested it all, Dorchester South railway station lies next door.

The Station itself is a popular establishment. With it's purple decor, three pool tables and multiple TV screens it certainly has a modern feel - and appears to be the pub of choice for Dorchester fans and players alike on a Saturday evening.

The second recommended drinking venue in the town is The Junction, just another minute's walk from The Station and situated on the junction of Weymouth Avenue, Great Western Road and Trinity Street. Again, not the most original of names, but we'll let it pass.

The Junction probably has more of a party atmosphere than The Station. Both pubs have late licences on Friday and Saturday nights and both are keen on their drinks promotions, but the Junction has the advantage of three (yes, three) big screens which regularly show Premiership, Champions League and international matches. There are no pool tables here, and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights The Junction plays host to a disco, suggesting The Station is more suited to those who prefer a relaxing atmosphere, whilst The Junction is definitely a pre-club pub.

On the subject of clubs, Dorchester has two. Paul's - named after the owner - is just along Trinity Street, whilst Liberty's - or Stings, or The Buzz, or The Steering Wheel Club, depending on your age - is located on High West Street, a brief walk up the road from our final recommended pub - The Royal Oak.

This is the most recent renovation of the bars in Dorchester, and is proving to be just as popular as The Station and The Junction. This is probably due to the fact The Royal Oak is a Wetherspoon's pub, and so the food and drink is fantastic value.

In the Wetherspoon's tradition there is no music here, but it is still the ideal location for Dorchester fans to meet prior to a Saturday afternoon match and share their views on the Echo's backpage story with pint in hand.
