Rugby Utd 5-0 Slough Town

GarySTFC

Recommended Posts

Brief details:

- 1-0 down h/t

- Lost 5-0

- No goalkeeper as our new goalkeeper who was playing is an airline Pilot or something and his flight was not back in time, so we had their reserve keeper in goal. He was at fault for no goals though and played OK.

- Two new players Cochrane (Midfielder that started) and Jones(Midfielder that came on as sub)

- Report online tomorrow

Is that Justin Cochrane, a young midfielder who was on the outer fringes of the QPR first team last season?

Seems like we had a bad game, but losing out to players in the transfer market in areas where we seriously need reinforcements (i.e. keeper and attack.. and hell, defenders for that matter).. is not good. Is it me or do we seem to just be signing midfielders again?

Ah well, roll on Staines!

Lets put it into perspective a little bit

1) We had their keeper in goal

2) We have a young side at the moment

3) No Gilkes, Barrowcliff, Wilkinson, James, Brown yesterday (all injured)

4) Lots of trialists still at the club

Yes we were poor yesterday only I thought Metcalfe had a decent match for us. It was just a bad day at the office yesterday with Ant and Veli probably our worst two players!

It also acts as a little bit of a waking up call and tells us that some of the youngsters we have are simply not good enough at this level.

I am most worried about the defence, 9 goals conceded in the last 2 matches is not good reading. Reed and Howard are good as wingbacks, but the back three does worry me as there were big gaps in the middle of the defence yesterday.

Justin Cochrane was the player on the QPR fringes last season I believe, played a few wonderful passes, but did not show a lot. Maybe he'll be able to do better in the Staines match.

put this into perspective the performance against rugby was rubbish fancy turning up with no keeper and that was no reason to lose the match as i believe their young reserve keeper did alright! the whole team were rubbish this cannot be blamed on the lengthy injury list just no compassion!!!!! COME ON SLOUGH IF YOU KEEP THIS UP WE ARE GOING NO WHERE THIS SEASON BUT DOWN
