Such loyalty Anon

For gods sake, we've had a great cup run this season, played some nice football at times, and at others have been crap - so what, that's football - highs and lows.

Just look at Exeter, a few years ago they were more or less dead and buried. Supporters stuck together and they've got Man United at home tonight, and could be promoted back to the league this season.

They couldn't have done that if all their supporters were as negative as you.

Main problem is we have'nt replaced Tony Boot and keep relying on the same players to keep scoring we need midfield players to contribute more in this department and some long range shooting would'nt go a miss but saying this Spencers goal against Hendon just shows when Alex and Josias get forward and get behind the oppositions defence we can score some fine goals.

Every team at this level would like more good players but thats why we are at this level

For Mrs Anon if things are that bad the number for the SAMARITANS is 01753 531011 or you could always give Steve Browne a ring!

Instead of silly comments, would you not be better employed putting the old grey matter to some serious thinking, and ask yourself why a team can beat professional opponents one week and then lose to poor teams the next, and the next and the next etc etc.

well let's see... our division is made up from any number of the teams who finished higher in their respective divisions last season (Ryman 1 Sout, North, Southern Eastern and Western) plus the a combination of teams relegated from a Higher Division plus any of the teams who lost playoff games to get into the conference South, which by my reckoning leaves a mid-table finish as a great result. Now Mr Anon above, shut your mouth as the only thing coming out is sh1t

Since, the Walsall game we have played eleven games winning five, drawing two and losing four. We have not lost two consecutive games in that period. Those defeats include Yeading - the best team in the league by far and Braintree and Billericay away. Two good sides with very good home records and there can be no shame in losing there. Have you been to any of the games since Walsall?

Admittedly our form has been inconsistent since the Walsall game and last night's result was disappointing coming against a fairly poor Northwood side. But there is no need to go reaching for the revolver just yet.

Instead of silly comments about going downhill perhaps you should have a reality check and realise that we are in a decent league and should be looking to consolidate this season.

This is getting really confusing, we have one Anon agreeing with another Anon but not with the other Anon, anon, they will all agree with everbody and then no-one will agree with none of the Anon.

For Heavens sake, if you don't want to register, you can at least put a handle on, so we can see which anon is which!

So we've beaten Walsall in one game so therefore, we MUST beat every team in this league because they're not as high as Walsall. You really know very little if that's what you believe.

Football is not a science. Explain why Manchester United's reserves cannot beat Exeter City or why Burnley beat Liverpool last night?

Instead of silly anonymous comments yourself, why not be mature enough to stand by what you say and put a name to your comments? No, of course you won't because deep down you don't believe what you say is realistic any more than we do.

Grey matter doesn't always come into the FA Cup- I don't think anybody though Exeter would earn a replay from their match at Old Trafford but these things happen and that is why the FA Cup is as magical as it is. If we played Walsall ten times I think they'd probably win the other nine, but on the day it worked for us, Merson and his men were on a terrible run away from home and they underperformed.

Turn your argument around if you like - how can Walsall be so poor for one match against a team divisons below them and then win four of their next five league matches against much better teams?

I can understand your concern to a degree but to say things have gone downhill since the Walsall match is not true. Our league form has remained constant, being strong at home whilst erratic/poor on our travels. This is how it was before we played Walsall too. If we're not good enough to challenge for the play-offs this year then so be it, but I'll be very surprised if we finish in the bottom 4.

Games like the one against Walsall have a one of a kind feel to them, it spurs the team on more than your average league opponent does, which is why our league form is so inconsistant, it happened against Yeading in the cup also.

I think Anon needs to be more patient and just wait a bit for Slough to hit a bit of consistancy.

Pretty much sums up STFC form for all time. It was the same last season. We put in our poorest performances away from home Casuals and Bracknel but our strong home form saw us promoted.

Schoolboy mathematics means that Billericay are better than Man Utd because they scored twice against Exeter when they played them at home.

I have always thought that the two main differences between the professional and non-professional game are fitness and consistency.

Actually I know very little about football, I have been supporting the Rebels since 1959.

Well if you're at the age to have been supporting Slough that long you should be mature enough to stand by what you say. I don't care who agrees with my views as it's a game of opinions and everyone is entitled to theirs. I accept that sometimes people will agree and other times they won't.

All your continuing anonymous status suggests is that you're embarrassed to own up to the opinions that you post on this forum.
