This time last season this was our record.

Played 26; Won 6; Drew 9; Lost 11; Scored 35; Conceaded 46; Goal Diff -11; PTS 27.

This season is a lot different.

Played 26; Won 8; Drew 8; Lost 10; Scored 40; Conceaded 37; Goal Diff +3 PTS 32.

Obvious differences there Improved the amount of games we've won and reduced games lost. Better goals for and against and a positive goal difference. Many other Conference teams would like to be in our position right now.

Our fan base is growing, I can't remember what the percentage difference is but it is a sizable difference. Local People now care about the future of the club in their town. As well as the Fleet Trust 200 members + and still growing.

Were attracting better standards of player. Players that haven't quite cracked it in the Football League so have come to us to rejuvenate their career.

Were fourteenth in the highest league we've played in and we have no right to deserve anything yet we feel dissappointed. This is a plus as far as I can see, a sign of how far we've come.

After the Carlisle game I went to the Coopers Arms (whats a cooper?) I went to the toilet did what you'd expect and then some Carlisle fans came in and were saying what a good footballing side they thought we were. Yet more positives.

Our position in the world is fantastic. Why do you lot think Scally wants to move the Gills down the road? It's because he knows a good thing when he see's it. What club wouldn't love to be in the biggest expanding area in the UK today?

Attracting new fans. Not just us but the whole conference and Non-League Football. I point to my own situation. Chelsea season ticket holder, I have my seat already paid for this Saturday at home to Portsmouth. Instead I want to spend ten pounds to go and watch Gravesend play Aldershot. Chelsea are ten points thats ten points say it again ten points one more time ten points at the top of the league the best team in the country, we're favourites to beat Barcelona next month in the Champs League and we have them scared, But I dont want to watch Chelsea I want to watch Gravesend.

I DONT WANT TO WATCH CHELSEA I WANT TO WATCH GRAVESEND

I WANT TO WATCH GRAVESEND

That must stand for something.

Come on Gravesend & Northfleet we have the best opportunity to make ourselves know, I mean really known. We must stick together focus on our goals and KEEP THE FAITH

Harry, your optimism brings a tear to my eye and feels me with pride.

Bless you, child!

I do agree with you. I've only been to the last four home games, and although we haven't won I definitely think we've shown signs of a good side.

It's just...where I stand the fans seem to be incredibly negative, waiting for a Fleet player to make a mistake it seems...

Trust me, it doesn't really matter where you stand, you can't avoid it totally...

Hmmm, may I ask how come fans don't sing that much? Is it a result of the recent bad form, or is there just a lack of songs anyway?

It just feels a bit embarrassing having the away fans chant "You're Supposed To Be At Home" nearly every game.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to totally insult the fans. I'm just curious.

I'm quite quiet/shy anyway, so I'd never be the type to start songs....

I agree with the first post, we have improved over the last year and hopefully we push on to the end of the season. I have always believed in supporting your local team, my Uncle started taking me to Hamilton when I was 6, and I will be an Accies Supporter to the day I die. I also went along to Watford when I lived near there (I know this was drastic!!!) and now I get down to see the Fleet when I can and I have done so for the past 8 years. I have thought about going up to Charlton to see a premiership game, but would not desert the Fleet. I think I have also commented before on the comments made by some supporters during a game which are negative. To me, you go along to encourage your team, not to berate them at every oppurtunity, which seems to be some people's want. If we can finish in the top 10, then I would see this season as a success, and that is certainly achievable.

Well, in the first half on Saturday, the home crowd was more spread out than usual owing to the game not being segregated. Other than that, it's usually only behind the goal that frequent chants can be heard - although you won't get me singing along to the tired anti-Canvey ones...
