Hopefully we get at least 1000 to hand in to all councillors. At the very least to Ezekiel. Come on keep em' coming. Tuesdays target is 550. Thank you everyone who has supported this petition so far. Every days targets have been reached so far. Need really to hand in this by Monday at the latest for them all to read through. Thats if they can read that is(councillors) or dont just throw it away.

S.O.S MARGATE FOOTBALL CLUB (EXPANDED)

We here at Margate F.C. are desperately trying to return to playing again at our beloved Hartsdown Park ground. The ground was pulled down ready for redevelopment some 3 yrs ago, but the developers pulled out leaving a demolished ground. This left the task of finding other investors while the club used alternative playing arenas which were some distance from Margate. We have now acquired new investors, but we feel that the local council is blocking our way forward by introducing issues that seem to represent delaying tactics. With investment secured, developers are ready to start work on a new stadium. However we are coming up against the time limit set for re-build by the football conference ruling body. Time is running out fast as the issue seems to be at stalemate with the Council. All relevant details of re-build have been submitted to the Council but the go-ahead for the newly viable project is not forthcoming. A final decision is due on this matter in the next 28 days but we feel that the Council do not want a football club in the town, preferring instead to sanction other development. We are asking for your support as we try to save our once successful club. We feel that this case is representative of the issues seen by other clubs and ask that you help us work to save an important part of the national game in our area. We welcome your names and comments and most of all your support on this a a matter in extreme urgency. You could be the saviour of MARGATE FOOTBALL CLUB. Many thanks.

Thanks for seeing my mistakes. I did do it quite quickly because I was desperate for it to get going bearing in mind the 14 days we have to get the signatures in. I did go through it carefully for mistakes as it does say that it cant be edited once done. I obviously didnt look close enough and while I think yours is a better content I didnt have the time you had to think about it as much. I dont however see that the content or spelling has put people off and the gist is there. Appreciate what you say but it cant be changed now apparently and anyway the thing aint doing too bad is it. The idea is to get these 1000 sigs and the message across. At short notice I think I covered it, though obviously not as good as your draft but it is working. So if you wish to use that text elswhere then it would be good for us indeed. I like the content and its spelling mistakes free writing. Well done but its too late to change this one. How about using it when these 1000 have been reached and you can set up the next petition on here with YOUR text. Am envious of your wording but as mentioned time was against us and normally I am very fussy. Thanks anyway. Sorry for the faults.
