Has anyone any thoughts on who we should go for?

 

My preference would be for an experienced forward who is looking to move into coaching but who still has a couple of years left as a player.

 

I agree with an earlier post that the current management team don't seem to be able to get the best out of our attacking players.

 

Bringing in a forward as player/assistant manager could solve this problem as well as filling two other vacancies at the club.

 

Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone who could fit the bill!!

If only we could afford Alan Shearer's wages!!!!!! I agree with the comment above that we could do with someone who could help with the attacking side of our play, but as for who, I have no idea. What is Steve Portway doing these days?????

As far as I can recall ( from the NLP ) the club legend Steve Portway is still playing in minor league football. Whether he has any plans for football management I couldn't say. He is probably in his early 40s now so is unlikely to be interested or required in Conference football as a player now. His serious eye injury was a personal and professional blow to one of the all time greats of non-league football. It is a testiment to his love of the game that he returned to play again after this had occured. If anyone knows where he is playing at present please post details.

Perks is back in the country in April.
