Thanks Hookey! To be honest I think Enfield Town are overated and thats not bing rude. I think they have a reputation and lots of fans but thats it. They have one or two good players but there defence is woeful especilly the tall blond fella. After the game I thought to myself how many of their players would make our side and I would say 3-4 max. Our defence today, first time they have played together is the best in the league. If they keep playing and don't get injured or suspened you will see it in our results. Look forward to the beer!

Rose tinted glasses here, I fear. That would seem to imply that most of the Manor side would get into the Town team. I'm afraid that's not the case. Your keeper on the Town bench, perhaps?

OK so i may have been a bit optomistic with the APSA score of 8-0; but the points went the right way

Sponser of beer Get a reality check. In this league anyone can beat anyone. But with the money you have you should play us off the park. Be honest did our keeper make a save? And in my opinion I would rather have the players we have and me personally I would only take 3-4 players from your side!

Last thing I'm saying on the matter is....Eton Manor no ground, no training facilities, no money, players playing for enjoyment...Enfield Town money, ground, reputation, a big selection of players...score 1-0...did you outplay us..NO! Did ou keeper make a save...NO...Were the officials bias...YES...Would 1-1 be a fair result...YES.

 

But having said all that I respect you lot for how you made a club and run it. More people like you and many non league clubs would be better off!

was there for the 1st 75 mins and agree with mr monor.for a team who play for the love of football there a credit to the game..if i never knew league postions i would not have known who was the higher placed side.. i would have given the ref maybe 3 out of 10 ( he was poor)the best 2 players on the pitch were quinn and mitchell.i would say if eton manor had the wage bill that enfield had they would be at least 8 points clear of the rest... and mr manor you are spot on mate with your view on enfield town they are not that great.... football is about opinions mine and mr manors are quite alike maybe you guys at enfield think differant?.

I thought the officials were not biased NO and 1 - 1 was a result I feared and if Chopper had not been so busy keeping the ball out in the second half you might have got it too. Thanks Chop!

Mr Manor agree with a lot you say, particualy liked your Number 6 (the Taribo West lookalike) strong & solid, and the 8 (was he captain?) good performance & kept the rest of the Manor boys on their toes, also think you have the makeing of a good keeper too.
However why should the money we have make any difference to the result? you make it sound like we pay the wages John Terry gets, and im not sure that 1-1 would have been a fair result, i think Chopper was about as busy as the Manor keeper in the 2nd half.

Thanks Gazza. I think there is a 50/50 split of Towners. Some who see the game and some who see what they like. What I meant by money is that generally you can get better players although maybe not the committment. The Manor players don't get paid and I think 4/5 could get in the Town side. I think it was a game bogged down in midfield. That was the first time that team had played together and the spirit and atmosphere is back which is really good. I just wonder where we would be if Margolis hadn't had mucked things up???

Hang on, Mr. Manor. First you say that 'After the game I thought to myself how many of their players would make our side and I would say 3-4 max'; unfortunately that gets watered down later to 'personally I would only take 3-4 players from your side'. That's not the same thing at all, but probably gets you off the hook of suggesting that the majority of your side would get into the Town team.

 

I think we all admire what Manor achieve, and yes thay could easily have got a draw yesterday. But you need the opportunity of a settled side over a season before you blow their trumpets too much!

Sorry Mr Manor.But i think you are getting out of your pram on this one. Town are poor defensivly are they.?? Why have we conceeded the least amount of goals in the league then?,and why couldn't you score against us.?

 

Only 3 or 4 Town players would get into Manors team...Where do you get off ,pal. Have you seen the points difference between the two sides.

 

I would suggest that Quinn would be the only Manor player who would have a sniff of making our line -up.But he looks like the type of player who could create unrest in the camp. As we've had too many players like that in previous seasons,i'll think we'll pass on him.

ETFC do not have a reserve team to call on.We do not take any bar money.Our outgoings barely cover the money coming in (if at all).Certainly not enough to put players on a contract or pay them wages.We pay our players travel expenses only.

 

Town played poorly yesterday.Manor raised there game (doesn't every team,when facing us) and you played well.But don't kid yourselves that the two teams are comparable in quality. Asa was one of your better players.I don't think he's played 90 minutes for us yet.Not because he not a decent player,but because of the strengh of our team.
